I like this garden tool, but it’s a killer on your hand. Handle needs a redesign.

In the last 30 years I have bent, broken, destroyed any other trowel I have been given. Bought one of these 20 some years ago and its still in great shape. It is longer than most trowels which is helpful for weeding, and a good length for planting garlic down 5. Recently bought two more for gifts. It truly is indestructible!

I have been looking for yonks for a sturdy trowel with a sharp point at the end. And lo and behold I found the Wilcox one. The photo shows a sharp point and better yet it is American made. My trowel arrived today. I had no problems with sticky tape affixed to the trowel. The quality appears great. In fact everything looks great except for my number one priority desire in a trowel and that was my disappointment. .... IT IS NOT POINTED BUT ROUNDED. For this reason I am giving a two star rating. If it was pointed it would have been rated 5 stars. What a bummer. Sadly, I am returning the trowel. I have attached photos of my item.

Really great - I think it would be better if it had a serrated edge on one side like the hori knives, but as it is it carries a decent amount of soil. As everyone else has said, this thing really is indestructible, doesnt rust or break down at all.

My Dad, an avid outdoorsman/craftsman/gardener, was very happy with this gift. He was impressed with its sturdiness and liked the sharp point for tougher soils around the house. Hes had several other trowels where the handle broke off, and he wasnt concerned with that happening with the Wilcox trowel. 5 stars.

Ive bought quite a few hand trowels in my 40 years as an adult. This is by far the sharpest trowel I have ever had. Excellent for digging in rocky and clay soil. The sharp edge and narrow but strong scoop works extremely well. Excellend for digging holes for bulbs and plants. Highly recommended. Not really necessary if you have really loose garden soil. Handle does not look terribly comfortable but fits well into my hand. So no complaints with the grip.

Works as advertised. Easy to dig with. Fits well in my small hands. Seems well made but have used only once so time will tell.

The 22 long handled trowel is easy to manage giving great leverage for working heavy soils. It seems almost indestructible meaning it can handle jobs where most trowels would break. Does exactly as promised.

This is the best hand trowel I have ever purchased. It is very sturdy and after a year of heavy use, still looks new. It has great weight, can dig with limited effort and has a handle that is comfortable on my hand. I have multiple sizes of this companies trowels and love all three.
