YETI Rambler Bottle Hot Shot Cap Accessory

First off the body of this thing is HEAVY relative to a Hydroflask or Zojirushi. Its made with heavyweight stainless thats highly resistand to drops or cruching forces. The amount of vacuum between the walls keeps this hot/cold for long periods of time. The only negative is the lid assembly. First of all its heavy too, made from all plastic, no metal, and a couple rubber gaskets. The entire center section threads away from the main body, which has the threads molded to fit into the bore of the stainless container. You twist the center knob about a queater turn until you feel resistance. This is the open position which allows fluid to flow ANYWHERE around the circumference of the lid. Turn it to the left again, passing the resistance and it comes completely apart for cleaning. Be aware that as you use this it can be comfusing wether its open or not because you cant tell just by looking at it. There are NO MARKINGS indicating open/closed.

The idea of this is awesome but there are improvements needed imo. I like not having to take the lid completely off the bottle to drink, but #1 the part you twist to open is inset fairly deep and difficult to get a grip on to open (especially with finger nails of any length) and #2 it is impossible to clean completely- or at least feel confident it is 100% clean. Plus it does not completely seal so my work bag ended up filled with water :( not what I would expect from Yeti branded products.

I am enjoying this cap. I dont always want to use a straw to drink out of my bottle, and this cap makes that happen easily.

I was looking for a lid where i didnt have to open the whole lid every time wanted to pour a cup of coffee. This cap seem like the perfect solution. Only issue is, for some reason, when you do the half twist and pour, the liquid doesnt pour smoothly and has a tendency to drip down the side of the rambler usually resulting in a mess.

I use this for my Yeti cup, it fits very well. Leak proof....very well made

Takes a little getting used to but great for turning your tumbler into a coffee thermos.

Yeti claims this is leakproof, but if you buy it, test it for leakage before using. Best strategy is to keep returning these to Amazon until you get one that does not leak. The first two of these I bought leaked with a steady drip when turned horizontal, each tested on two different Ramblers. I returned them and finally, on the third try, I got one that was watertight. Yeti should pay more attention to quality control.

It does what it says. Bought for my 18oz and 26oz Ramblers. Will not fit the Tumblers.
