YETI Rambler Bottle Hot Shot Cap Accessory

> 3 dayOn cold diving days I mix of a big batch of hot chocolate to warm me up after the dive. But the standard caps for most of these bottles just isnt suited for drinking hot drinks. This solves that problem. It doesnt seem to degrade the performance of the bottle, a hot drink mixed up in the morning is still quite hot in the evening. In fact it works almost too good, and I will likely be trying the Cup Cap, as then I can pour a limited amount to cool while the main amount stays hot. Now it does have two big negatives, the first is common for most of the caps, it lacks a carrying handle. If you use a larger bottle so you have enough beverage for all day, they are hard to hold by the bottle walls alone. The second is that it is hard to tell if it is open or closed. If I put it down I have to first physically check that it is closed. If I am holding it for a while, and forget if it is open or closed I have to reach in to check.

> 3 dayGreat design, great functionality, marred by a lack of markings that let you quickly and visually confirm if it is open or closed. Misread the open/close state and when the tall bottle inevitably falls over in your bag or on the desk, and you will have have a huge mess to deal with. In the past year, Ive lost two iPad Pros and a stack of student papers to liquids gushing out of this lid when the bottle fell over in my bag. Ive now retired the lids and am looking for other lid solutions. Yeti, please put markings on these lids so that we can easily confirm the open/close state!

> 3 dayI have had the same pop top coffee mug for 10 year (no joke, 10 years) I loved it because of the simple pop top. Push, Open. Push, Close. I was reluctant to try anything new because it just works. The only downside was cleaning. It was cumbersome to take apart and reassemble. The YETI cap, is EPIC. 2 pieces, thats it! Unscrew, clean, DONE. Ill always have this lid.

Greater than one weekThe construction quality of this lid is very good. Its 100% leak proof when closed, provides a nice flow when opened, and comes apart easily for thorough cleaning.

> 3 dayBUYER BEWARE: Hot liquids put your drink under pressure, the pressure build up forces hot liquid to leak out of the outer screw area. AKA where the outer rubber gasket screws into the Rambler. I was very excited to receive this Hot Shot Rambler lid. However, after filling it twice with hot coffee and hot water, both times the outer gasket ring leaked. The second time, hot liquid was actually shooting out of the side of the lid where it met the metal bottle. I examined the waterproof gasket ring and noticed there are factory holes about every inch around the diameter. These rings appear to be the cause for the leaks and the hot liquid streaming out of the rambler. I love yeti products, but this one is a NO GO. Save yourself 15 bucks and look elsewhere.
