Purchased this pack to take on a trip to Jamaica. It performed outstanding, there are more than enough pockets for all your stuff. Opened it up laid it flat and went right through TSA without having to dump out all my electronics. And there is a strap on the back to put it on the handle of your suitcase making it easy to carry on top. Oh and did I say that there is enough room to pack for a couple of days without any problem. I always like to pack a couple days in case my check in bag gets lost. Many more things that I could say about this bag, bottom line it works... and would recommend it for traveling for the day or packing lite for the week.

Plenty of room for rocks and whatnot. Why rocks? Because if you stuff em with rocks, and carry them around for a few days, by the time you are ready for your trip, your freshly loaded backpack containing clothes, shoes, tablet, toiletries, underroos, and kitchen sink, will be soooo much lighter. Your plane ride will be a joyous occasion, like a TWA commercial from the 60s. Just be sure to clean out all the rocks, otherwise TSA may offer a curious look. Seems well made, and will update this review once I have it for six months. Wished it had better padding in the pocket area to protect the electronics.

Definitely buy the warranty. What this doesnt tell you is that they guarantee the purchase for 30 days. No more. I bought this on October 5. Its now February 27, so not quite 5 months after purchase. My son (a freshman in high school) needed this for his classes because his old backpack was worn out and falling apart. This is definitely spacious, has lots of compartments, and my son liked it a lot. But now the zippers are pulling apart from the fabric - the small pocket in the very front just hangs open like a flap now. Not only is the zipper coming away from the fabric, but the teeth are pulled apart as well, so even if I could fix the zipper, it wont zip anymore because of these issues (and this isnt even a pocket my son uses). Its too bad, because otherwise, its a great backpack . Again, really spacious, *most* of the materials are solid (there are a couple of spots where its already starting to show wear and tear, but thats more appearance than structure), and its comfortable. Just too bad the zippers are cheap and the seams werent sewn together well. So if you want to get this one, *definitely* buy the warranty so when it starts to fall apart in a couple of months, at least you can get a replacement. Me, Im SOL, I guess. Update: its not April 5. This morning, my son lifted his backpack from the floor by the handle, and a huge hole ripped in the top main compartment. He then went to add something to the top front zipper area, and the same thing happened as back in February: the zipper has peeled away from the backpack, and the zipper tabs came apart. So now the two front pockets are completely non-functional. Were just going to have to trash this one and buy him a new backpack. Whats funny is, I bought my daughter the same backpack, but her is in gray. Theres no issues with it at all. Yet, anyway. But yeah, youre just tossing your money out the window with this thing.

    Greater than one week

This backpack is definitely better than any backpack Ive used before. Im an engineering college student so I need to carry a lot of things to class. It can hold 2 large hardcover engineering textbooks, a 5 subject spiral notebook, a sketchpad, 2 calculators, a water bottle, and a laptop while still having some space to spare. Even with all that weight the straps are still comfortable and do not dig in to my shoulders or chest. I also travel by train a lot and for the first time I dont need 2 bags for all my stuff, this one backpack does the job. It was also able to protect my paper and electronic items from rain. Overall Im very satisfied. This backpack looks like it will last and be useful well beyond my graduation.

It has plenty of space and different sizes and types of compartments. The side straps do get in the way of the zippers if you leave them clipped. The rubber handle has broken on one side already (after 2 months) and I only take this to and from work so its not abused by airline travel.

I purchased this a year ago haul my 17MBP, cables, and assorted computer stuff, along with any travel needs. It has functioned well, with no rips or tearing in spite of some rather heavy abuse at times. The top carry handle, which gets most of the abuse, seems as good as new. It held my (sadly now retired) 17 laptop with a bit of room to spare. The aux battery pocket is large enough to take my large battery. The number of pockets, placement, and access allows me to carry in a (relatively, for me) organized way all the accessories I need to use, and there is still enough room for a few days worth of clothing and a toiletry kit when on the road. Overall a very nice bag.

I DID NOT want a new backpack. I loved my old High Sierra that I had for almost 6 years but it was slowly coming apart enough that I was afraid to continue to trust it. I went searching to see what was selling now. I came across this bag and read the reviews, read the description and thought that it sounded like it would work. I wasn’t convinced but since it was returnable, I would give it a try. I was excited to get home and open the box. Seriously! I immediately thought, “nope! This is going back!! To small!” I fixed dinner but decided to do a fair comparison. I took it out of the bag, i unfolded it still dubious. GAME CHANGER!!! This bag is REALLY well made! Like really good quality material!! The capacity is MIND BLOWING! I am a teacher and carry at least one backpack, a shoulder bag, my purse and lunch. This bag consolidated my 17” laptop, my Erin Condren planner, my tablet, my stack of papers, a pair of sneakers, my umbrella, first aid supplies, a pack rain coat...I STILL HAVE ROOM!!! How??? EVEN MY EXTRA LARGE PEN POUCH FITS IN IT!! I am so excited to see how this wears and handles my daily usage. If I change my mind, I’ll change my review but right now 100% happy!

Multiple specialized storage compartments. Hold a 4-cell 18650 battery pack in an internal side pocket with external USB port for recharging about any personal electronic device. Unfolds for quick TSA screening, as advertised. One suggestion for improvement: Black on black with black zippers is somewhat confusing for opening the correct compartment the first time. Used Multicolor heat shrink tubing to color code the dual zippers on each compartment. Adding a short colored cord lanyard also helps identifying the right zipper for each compartment. Not only new carry on, but also goes to the office with me on a daily basis now. (Best man-purse ever?). Dont care - its a great bag/backpack for most any purpose.
