Im a fairly mechanically minded person but dont know what the technology is that makes this device work. Not one ant has made it to the food in weeks now. If you have an ants in your pets food, buy this!

I was skeptical, but this thing really works!! I can finally feed my cats on the floor! I used to have to put it up on a table or counter because the sugar ants were so bad. Kinda expensive but worth every penny!!

Had it for two years now and it just.... works. The small ants that seasonally invade our kitchen never make it into the dogs bowl. Only drawback is if your dog pushes the bowl while eating. If the bowl touches the wall, the ants can get around the tray. I added some adhesive-backed door stopper pieces to hold my bowl in the center and everything works like a charm.

Successfully keeps ants out of my cat’s food dish. I especially like that it does not require water, gel or anything additional. It works as is, right out of the box.

When we feed our cats dry food outside, it is instantly covered in ants. We tried ant-proof bowls which worked well until they broke. Thought wed try this product this time, and I am really pleased! Its so refreshing to find a product that really lives up to its advertising! This one does!!! Im using two in my kitchen where my indoor cat eats and Im using three outside on a platform where the community cats feed. Outside, I do have to keep the outside area clean of debris. I use three under the community cat pan because that pan is much larger. I tried sitting the pan in a larger pan of water, but the ants just floated over to the food. Ive been using the Ant Aways for months through all kinds of weather. The ants cant seem to find the cat food! YES!!!

Works well just wish it came in other sizes.
