Perfect 1095 steel flat stock for knife making. My son forges with his uncle and these 4 pieces of 1095 steel flat stock were definitely appreciated by both. They used them on a project and said it worked very well.

Nice clean precut lengths Just right to make into a knife or a tool. 1095 is easy to. Work with... easy to harden and easy to temper. It makes fine knives that take a wicked edge . Good small parts for machines.... good tools... and treatment is snap. Im happy and this works well

These are good quality steel and are good for knife making or just to use as metal stock for projects. The steel is easy to work with in terms of cutting and forming. 3 of them were perfectly flat, the 4th was not. It can be bent back flat, but it tends to spring back to the curve pretty easily. I guess thats an indicator that the steel is good. Its not so good if you want to make a straight knife. Maybe I can find another use for the bent one. I like how they came packaged and were all rusty or overly oily. Perfect packaging in my opinion. Overall would recommend for knife projects where you dont want to scrounge up a piece and just want something made for that purpose.

This seems like good metal. I dont know how to verify its properties, but as I use it more, Ill update this if anything changes. Came wrapped well enough. You can see it was not cut up carefully, the ends are still rough with burrs, but not terrible. Couple dings here and there, but nothing that will cause a problem. Dont expect perfect pieces. So far I like it, would recommend.

High carbon steel worked great for stock removal knife making

I’m new to knife making and bought these blanks to practice some of the basics on. I have a friend who has made a few knives and told me to order this steel. So far I’ve only cut out a basic shape with my angle grinder and that part went OK. This being my first time using steel to fabricate a knife I have nothing to compare this particular steel to. So far all I can say is that I have not run not any problems using it.

I wrote a review of this product some time ago, but it didnt post for some reason. Ill summarize my earlier post. Product arrived quickly and was packaged very well. Appears to be as described, though I havent done anything with them at this point. As some have noted, you wont be making large knifes with these blanks, but that isnt their intended use. I come from a line of Blacksmiths (father and grandfather). I did some hobby stuff in my youth, but went on to do other things for hobbies; mainly cars and woodworking. Due to the popular TV show, Im interested in getting back in to doing some steel work. I have my fathers manual forge blower, antique vise, tools, and anvil. Just need to work on the fire pit and i can get to work.

My son and his uncle have a hobby of knife making with a home made forge. They stated that this was hard steel that was able to be worked into a knife.

The steak was high quality and was with in the given specifications.

These came as expected. They were well packed and oiled for shipping. The material was very consistent and I look forward to making blades with it. Were playing with the hardness tests and making our knives this weekend. This passed the snap test. It was properly annealed and we shocked it and got the expected result.
