The piece itself is a sturdy aluminum, but the socket retainers have issues. For one, the retainers are held on the bar only by a soft rubber end cap on each end of the bar. Since the retainers slide along the length of the bar that means the whole retainer set can fall off if those end caps aren’t in place. Of course the rubber end caps slide right off so the retainers will fall off every time you pick it up. You’ll have to glue the end caps on. Second problem, the retainers have a weak ball bearing to hold the sockets on, so anything over a size 14 will fall off under its own weight if the bar is picked up too fast. Save your money folks

I bought this to use with my existing pegboard. The first thing I noticed is that as soon as you hang it on the pegboard, the plastic end cap comes loose. The end caps slide down to far over the piece. Ideally the opening in the middle of the metal should stuff where the endcap starts but that’s not the case so the end cap comes off every time you hang it up. Without those end caps, the bits will slide off the entire metal piece. They are not snug at all so I don’t have much faith that they will actually stay put for very long. It will be annoying to have to constantly do that.

I bought these socket organizers to finally get my Craftsman socket set out of the plastic molded case because they would frequently fall out of their spots inside the case, so I would have to spend several minutes putting them back. I use red for SAE, blue for metric, and black for extensions, etc. There are holes in the ends of the rails so you can screw them to a backing plate, or the inside of a drawer, etc. The rubber end caps slide off easily, which is by design, so you can swap out sockets, or add/remove sockets. If you prefer the sockets be locked onto the rails you can make sure the bolt head you use to attach them sticks above the clips and acts as a stop. Alternatively, you could just bend the rails at the ends to lock the sockets on, but I wouldnt do that because it would be too permanent. You can order extra clips, rails, and end caps, so you can cut rails into smaller rails and make custom holders. The clips are great and hold the sockets on well. I had a problem with my order and contacted the seller through Amazon. Mark from Olsa Tools got back to me right away and resolved the issue immediately. Five stars all around.

Great quality socket rails. The same product seems to be offered by multiple vendors on Amazon, so its worth shopping around before adding these to your cart. The red anodized finish is beautiful, and the aluminum construction and ball bearing equipped socket holders make these a high quality purchase. Im so pleased that I just ordered a second set. I ended up getting the first set from Neiko: https://www.amazon.com/Neiko-02454A-Aluminum-Socket-Organizer/dp/B073WKH8VF/ The two advantages of the Neiko branded rails are that theyre about 30% less expensive than the Olsa tools set and they come with more included socket holders (eighteen 3/8 socket holders, and twenty 1/4 socket holders). On the other hand, the main advantage of the Olsa rails is that theyre available in multiple colors (which is handy for visually separating metric and SAE sockets). The Neiko rails are currently only offered in red. The only thing I wish is that both Neiko and Olsa offered is a shorter rail option. Ares does. These ones are way too long for the typical set of 10 to 12 sockets. If shorter rails were available, it would be easier to find a storage case to fit them in.

These socket holders are a fantastic deal for the money. I checked out some at Lowe’s and the ones they had were $22 each and just cheaply made, the others were even higher and just overkill. These are solid, well built, the socket holders slide smoothly and it hold more sockets. I got the locking caps separately to hold the sockets on better than the rubber end piece. I bought red for “standard” and blue for “metric”, highly recommend and would buy again.

I bought these to make a socket drawer for my new tool box. The fit and finish is great! The sockets stay on and dont need excessive pulling to get them off. Im happy with my purchase and plan to buy more

The rails are solid and I havent had any problems with the plastic clips...yet. They are plastic in a metal world so I do expect they will break at some point in time. If you plan to place these rails in a toolbox or in a cabinet, expect the end caps to never stay in place and your sockets to spill out into your toolbox. Poor design to have soft endcaps that only have light friction to hold the clips from sliding off the end. To fix the problem, I found a video showing someone putting a screw through the hole in the rail and into the back of the clip at each end of the rail. I tried it and it works like a charm. Predrill the hole in the back of the clip before putting the screw in to make the job easy and quick.

I bought a large socket set years ago from a big box retailer. The case they came in did not hold them secure so every time Id open it many of the sockets were floating around the case and out of order. These Olsa socket holders are a very high quality set. I bought the set of three (one for each size sockets). I liked them so much, and had so many sockets to organize, that I bought two more sets of three. Now all my sockets are in order and stored neatly in my tool chest. Very highly recommended. If I had to find something to constructively criticize, it might be simply that the rubber end pieces might eventually crack and not stay on. If that were to happen, the socket holders could theoretically fall off. But they dont slide on their own so I dont think that will be a problem. I really like them. I would like to maybe see different colors of anodized aluminum (maybe a blue set?). That way I could have SAE as one color and Metric as another. Five stars and a repeat buyer. Looking at their other offerings now for even more tool organization.
