Bought the 1/2 and also the 3/8 before getting the 1/4 size. Great tools!

The socket holder is well made. The extruded aluminum rail is sturdy enough to hold 1/2 drive sockets without flexing or bending. The anodized finish is a nice touch and comes in various colors. Overall a good product. p.s. the card included in the box says you get 10% discount on next order for subscribing to their newsletter. Once you sign up for the newsletter you get only a 5% discount on next order.

I bought a set in blue and a set in red. Im torn, because a part of me wishes they were 2-3 longer. Then another part of me wishes maybe they were 1.5 shorter. Longer to fit more sockets on them, shorter due to the layout of the toolbox drawer. Something to be mindful of. The hight of the rail + the clips + my deep well sockets (Husky circa 2000) are too tall to stand the sockets up, forcing me to lay them over eating up valuable drawer space. I have a 26 Husky toolbox. If I had a larger toolbox my gripe about how short these rails were would be pointless (as those are often deeper) and the sockets would likely stand up due to the drawers being taller. The quality, the fit, the finish all nice. There is a part of me that wishes the ends werent just rubber boots, but something a bit more study. I ran a socket on and actually knocked the rubber end off. Some hard-plastic with a small set screw would be perfect! FWIW, I did end up dropping a loaded rail. All the sockets stayed on!

The only dislike is that its a little to short to hold a full rail of 1/2 drive sockets. Needs to be 2 longer. Thats it.

The socket organizer fit in the tool box as expected. I really like the ease with which I can remove and replace the sockets. I bought two, one for metric and one for inch sockets. I was slightly disappointed at how easy the end pieces slid off.

The rails are solid and I havent had any problems with the plastic clips...yet. They are plastic in a metal world so I do expect they will break at some point in time. If you plan to place these rails in a toolbox or in a cabinet, expect the end caps to never stay in place and your sockets to spill out into your toolbox. Poor design to have soft endcaps that only have light friction to hold the clips from sliding off the end. To fix the problem, I found a video showing someone putting a screw through the hole in the rail and into the back of the clip at each end of the rail. I tried it and it works like a charm. Predrill the hole in the back of the clip before putting the screw in to make the job easy and quick.

So, let me start by saying that “socket rails” have been around for quite some time. There have been so many different redesigns of the rail system and it appears that everyone is trying to make the proverbial “better mouse trap”. Well as a professional mechanic (Aircraft, Boats, Automobiles, Homes, etc.) I have to say that this rail system is a notch above the rest and deserves 5 stars for several reasons. The Olsa Tools socket rail to start gives you 16 socket attachments where others will give you only 12 or so. Yes other companies are starting to also give you the extra socket attachments but… Olsa Tools make their extra socket attachments available to you. The spring loaded ball bearing keeps just the right amount of tension to hold the socket. The clips slide on the rail with ease. You have seen those who use metal rails and metal clips, well personally I have been cut on those clips too many times to count and when the clips get worn the sockets get either stuck with dry metal friction or the clip loses its “spring” and the sockets fall off. Their choice of color allows you to keep Metric, SAE, and “in my case I use the black rail for” miscellaneous.

I bought two 3 packs (1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 inch) to replace the plastic case that my 40 year old Craftsman Mechanics socket set came in. Every time I opened the case all the sockets fell out and after a while I just stopped organizing. Now I use one set for my metric sockets and one on my standard sockets. The ball bearings on each socket slot is just like that of a socket wrench. They never fall off and make organizing super easy. I highly recommend these! My 40 year old Craftsman set will now last another 40 years!

Using this for 1/2 inch deep well impact sockets and it still works great.
