This is a major flaw with this tool. The spindle is metal on metal and binds with any slight pressure. So the head does not turn as it should. I am returning this for a refund. I should have spent a few more dollars to avoid the hassles of returning the item and waiting for the refund.

Initially I was happy to start using this sander. I have only turned two small bowls and used this to sand. Bearings are already making noise and when used get hot and start to resist spinning. No instead of saving money I’m $25 in the hole for buying a quality unit. You get what you pay for. No recommended.

    Ease of use

Most handled bowl sanders have maybe one bearing or no bearing at all on the head assembly. Without a bearing, the rotation of the sanding mandrel can get choppy at best when trying to sand while your project is spinning on a lathe. Our bowls sander has two smooth rotating bearings that produce much less friction than sanders without bearings. This means you will achieve much better results finishing your project using our Dual Bearing Bowl Sander
