> 24 hourI had a typical center punch, basically a sharp screwdriver type implement and as some tools do, it walked a while ago and I have been having to make do. One thing I do frequently is put holes in frames for screws for the hangers. This might be overkill, but I’ve been using the side of scissors and small screwdrivers. This does the job and is more accurate. Two for $4.99 is a great price

> 24 hourThis is a nice punch. Would have given 5 stars, but the first time I used it, the punch did not reload. I took the unit apart but found nothing I could see holding the spring. I banged it on the table and the spring released. After reassembling the punch worked perfectly and reset every-time.

> 24 hourThis is a usable and functional low budget center punch. The product listing indicates it’s made of “high-quality stainless steel” but it appears to be run of the mill steel. I saw no difference when I adjusted the spring tension and used the punch on 1/8” thick mild steel and the resulting dimple wasn’t very deep at any spring tension. That said, it’s usable and there’s admittedly little to complain about given the $6 price for 2 punches.

> 24 hourMade a small prick in both aluminum and hard steel. Although I thought it worked fine I believe a slightly stronger spring would improve it. I used it full tension but would liked slightly more resistance for a little deeper hole.

> 24 hourCant say enough good things about this set of spring loaded punches. They work perfectly and like they are supposed to. The knurling provides a nice grip. Both sides can be unscrewed for cleaning and lubrication. You really cannot go wrong with this set. They are an excellent value. I have a Starrett at work that cost ten times as much as these two. They make the same indent on steel as the Starrett does. They even feel the same when used. I would highly recommend these center punches. Extremely useful tool to have on hand.

> 24 hourWasnt sure if I could use this with not much hand strength; but this was easier than I thought. I kept losing the little pre-drill screws. This was a great find. And TWO for the price was even better.
