> 3 dayI use a center punch everyday, sometimes multiple times a day and the gold ones just don’t seem to last. These look and feel much better than them. The point is sharp which leaves a smaller divot, so punch it twice if you use a 1/4” drill bit or larger. Since these are new and tight it is hard to “walk” your punches if your first punch wasn’t spot on. When I took it apart to inspect it the inner springs are black like they are hardened so they should hold up longer.

> 3 dayThe mechanism in both United are very difficult to work. Need to repeatedly press the unit down more than once to have the spring disengage and spring back to make the mark. Is is easier to just use a scribe instead of the center points that I purchased. Not happy with the product unfortunately. Thank you.

> 3 daykarmiero 2 Pc Automatic Center Punch Remarkably, both of the spring-loaded automatic punches worked the first time. The grip is easy to maintain. First, I tried various types of wood. The pressure to activate the punch is minimal. Each time it scribed a hole mark. I then went to metals such as aluminum and steel. The steel required spring adjustment to get a good visible hole. The punch never slipped and was accurate. The tools are easy to assemble and disassemble. Well manufactured, and no detectable flaws. Excellent value.

23-11-2024I had a typical center punch, basically a sharp screwdriver type implement and as some tools do, it walked a while ago and I have been having to make do. One thing I do frequently is put holes in frames for screws for the hangers. This might be overkill, but I’ve been using the side of scissors and small screwdrivers. This does the job and is more accurate. Two for $4.99 is a great price

> 3 dayIF yours doesnt punch holes, you have to open up the front part and change the direction of the spring. The spring that is closest to the hole punch part. For some reason the spring I received way put it backwards so it was catching on the mechanism inside and not pressing into the whole fully.

Greater than one weekIve never used spring loaded punches before, always simple pointed awls. These are great. They easily mark wood. I couldnt get them to mark mild steel, but I dont think that is what they are designed for. Im sure theyd do softer metal like aluminum as well as wood. For the price you get 2!
