21-11-2024I just got this today and installed them today so I cant speak to the durability, but I was very pleased as soon as I got them out of the box. I like the idea of the slide-over mechanism versus outlet plugs because even if your kiddo unplugs something, they cant try to plug it back in, or try to put something else (small, metal) in there. Obviously the same goes for someone that removes an outlet cover and forgets to put it back in (other kids, visitors that dont have small kiddos, etc.). I really like that they came with the foam backing (insulation), which I read (in another review) is supposed to help with drafts. I also appreciate that it came with longer screws as the covers themselves stick out a little from the wall and need that little extra length of the screw to be secure. (I read in 1 review that these are supposed to go over existing outlet covers; that isnt the case. You need to completely remove the current ones and put these on. I also read that they didnt come with longer screws - mine did.) The covers are tough to slide over using your finger, which is exactly what you want these to do. I came back to Amazon to order more tonight, but when I saw some of the negative reviews about things coming unplugged or things that working right because it couldnt get a solid connection, I decided to try these out for awhile since my son isnt crawling yet then come back and give an update. But so far they seem well-made and priced well. Yes, theyre a little more expensive than others, but you can tell they are well-made and its worth paying an extra $0.50-$0.75 to help keep my son safe.

> 3 dayThese work great for curious toddlers and look good too! Some of them arrived a little stuck in the closed position, but move freely once given a nudge with a flat head screwdriver. I ordered one pack and liked them so much I ordered a second to do more outlets. They cost a good bit more than the standard push in covers, but look and function SO much better. These did have a foam gasket on the back side to seal out drafts just like another brand mentioned, but these are cheaper. I havent had any problems with plugs not staying in or missing screws as some other reviewers have mentioned. Very satisfied! No more frustration from the push in style for me! **On a side note: some of the outlets in our house were cream colored and others were white; we wanted to change them all to white to match, and these prevented me from having to install new outlets. = Very happy husband with a now smaller honey do list.

Greater than one weekThese work great to keep kids safe and prevent them from messing with outlets. The one con is that they sometimes push out chords that are plugged in due to the closing feature and the tension it puts on them. I use these all over my house to keep my boys safe and don’t mind having to plug in things that pop out since safety is my priorityz

> 3 dayWe love these outlet covers. Grandkid came to stay with us over 4th of July weekend. My husband was hesitant at first and thought he would from now on always need two hands to plug something in. So I installed the covers while he was taking a nap. He only noticed a few days later that the covers had been exchanged. Of course no sooner was the toddler here, little fingers were already probing the outlets - even trying to unplug something - but as soon as the plug came out, the outlet cover closed. Now my husband is convinced that this was a great baby proofing item. In addition, some of the outlets that we have are still from the original owner and not very tight - these self-closing outlet covers tighten the grip so plugs stay put.

> 3 dayLove these! They are easy to use / install and it is a lot easier to use the outlet over the outlet plug covers you can find for cheap at Walmart. The part I don’t like about them is sometimes when you plug something in it won’t work with this cover on. My daughter has 4 outlets in her room and I was only able to use 2 since her sound machine and room lamp (opposite sides of the room) don’t work when plugged into this. Other than that, we love them and have them around our house!
