The product is great. I purchased this to repair/restore a sentimental lamp for my wife. After a trip to a local Home Depot, I learned they did not carry the size tap & die I needed for the project. This set had everything I needed plus more for future work. The lamp is now repaired & my wife is happy. The craftsmanship of the tools was top notch. They even sent a nice carabiner with the kit. I am a satisfied customer.

I bought this tap n die set in the event I break a screw doing derailleur adjustments. A week ago it happened where the screw head broke. I drilled what I think is a aluminum screw and then ran the M4 metric tap in the hole. It worked and I’m able to screw back a new M4X1.0 Shimano screw and in ready to reinstall my front derailleur.

Im not a professional, just used occasionally and so far it didnt fail me. Have no instructions but YouTube helps with that. Keep the foam and plastic cover inside and wall will be organized.

Nice economic set for the garage

I have needed a tap and die set for years. I have purchased an odd tap or die over the years but decided since I retired I’ve been putting together a shop for repairs and fabricating. This set will be very handy having both SAE and Metric. I haven’t used it yet but looking forward to doing some work on taping steel for bolts in added items for a trailer. It would have been nice to have a label on the outside of the very nice case but a Sharpie will fix that.

Im a retired Quality Engineer and have wanted a set like this for decades. This kit has proved to be one of my wisest invests and Im so happy w the tap And thread making jobs ive done This is NOT a cheap set by no means and the value is enormous vs price. I am very pleased w this set and recommend it highly to any DIY garage/home work shop.

This set seems to be a good bargain for a DIYer who wants a decent general use set for random tasks that come up. The Pros: 1. I measured all the pitches on both the SAE and Metric taps with an Irwin thread pitch gauge and all of mine were spot on. (They also included thread pitch gauges, but I didnt use the included ones) 2. Ive used these to tap into stainless steal with no issues. 3. I tested an Irwin tap I have vs. one from this set (same size) and I didnt notice any huge difference in performance for that size (it was 10mm 1.25 pitch). Make no mistake though, the Irwin tap is better, they are just significantly more expensive for a similar set. The Cons: 1. The cheap blow mold case does not keep these all organized well, even if you leave that sheet in there. If you expect to move these around a lot youre probably going to need another solution or else youll go insane with an exploded mess every time you open it up. It also arrived to me in an exploded mess when I opened it. 2. The tools they throw in to use the taps/dies are terrible quality and youll probably want something better. They can probably get the job done in a pinch, but they suck. Conclusion: For how cheap these are you I cant really complain at all. This set does not scream high quality to me at all and I have no idea what the long term reliability will be like, but if youre in a similar position that I am in that you want an ok set for the once in a blue moon job you have these should be sufficient. As others have said if youre a pro you might want to invest in a name brand set.
