Ok...this is not a review based on years of experience. In fact, I have never operated the device before. I sail a lot and needed an item for the main sail. The replacement cost was over $150. If I could just replace the threads on the item, it would still be functionable. I decided on The Master Tap and Die Set. It arrived today, I selected the items that fit the existing rods and easily replaced the threads. I couldnt be more pleased with the ease of utilizing the tools. This will remain on the boat for, I am sure, a variety of projects. DrDanielA

This is my third set. I have not fully evaluated it. I plan on updating this review Once I have. Im throwing this out there now because the area I live in gets very cold in the winter and I think this is a really good value for a set that includes both metric and SAE. So if youre going to be pulling the snow blower out soon you may want to consider purchasing this set. I cannot attest fully to the quality in relationship to longevity at this point but even if it wears out after a few uses its still a good set for emergency purposes. Especially with the pandemic, who knows how long it could take to get replacement parts for nessisary equipment this winter. My impression so far is as follows: -i really like the thread guage measurment tools included. Theyre small and can be conveniently placed on a key-ring and I like that there is a Sepetate one for both metric and SAE. -The padded lining inside of the case is too thin. It doesnt hold the smaller bits in place. - the bits themselves are machine well, but some of the accessories and the fittings for them are a little rough, especially the channels leading to the exterior of the die handle. It makes adjusting the centering teeth a little difficult. However the hardware quality is good. - the tools are clearly stamped and easy to read from a distance. However some of the markings inside of the case are a little difficult to read. - I really like the points and holes on the ends of the taps. They are well machined and perfectly centered. - the thin piece of clear plastic included to Shield the padding from the tools is awesome too. Im glad I didnt throw it away. It fits on top of the tools and can be used to mark with notes for all the things each bit was used for or is intended to be used for and inverted with separate notes for separate jobs. Or if Im building something elaborate with numerous holes, I could use a dry erase marker. - for the money I spent I wouldnt expect the case to be of any higher quality however it was damaged slightly in transit to my mailing address. Overall Im impressed with the quality for the price I spent. I will have to edit this review Once I have more information to share.

The case is a little cheap feeling. But the tools seem nice. I used it on my four wheeler cleaning up some threads on the flywheel worked just fine.

This set is has an enticing price point. My set was complete. Today I used the 3/8th inch die to place a stud end on a mild steel rod. The result is adequate for my application. Understand that the handles are very short. I could barely muster the leverage needed to turn an ample nut hold. If you need this for larger diameters, you will thank yourself for going with a larger turn lever. This one is only OK for small diameter jobs.

There seems to be some confusion as to the size of the dies. I measure them as 25mm round dies.

Taps and dies seem to be good quality. T-handle and die holder are crap

Good set for someone who doesn’t use every day! Good price just wish I came with starting and bottoming tap of each size that is my only complaint.

It was well organized in the box and will use mainly for cleaning threads
