> 3 dayThe taps and dies seem good and strong and high quality. It missed the 5 star review because the case doesnt hold the items. If you open it upside down they fall all over which is not pleasant. Only used one tap so far and is did good.

> 3 dayI had very low expectations for this set, given the price. Nevertheless, I was still let down. The Good: - The thread gauges seem fine :D - The taps look serviceable, but dont expect long tool life The Bad: - Most of the dies (especially the smaller ones) have a burr rolled over on to the cutting edge, rendering it impossible for them to cut threads. If they simply reversed the direction of the thread mill so the burr was rolled over onto the trailing edge, they could have gotten away with not deburring the dies. Or, just use a sharp thread mill. - The holes on the dies are not centered well. - The T-handle does not have a center on the back; instead, a set screw for retaining the tommy bar. The Ugly: - The detailed description does correctly list what is present, but the overview description implies that both coarse and fine metric taps/dies are present. In reality, a single fine metric tap and die are present (M10x1.0). Looks like most of the UNF are present though. - Theres a confused, lonely 1/8 NPT in this set for some reason, trying to find its family. - There are UNC/UNF taps and dies interspersed with the metric ones. The label is imprinted on the plastic, so it was not just an accidental misarrangement. - The labels on the dies are very inconsistent--some are engraved, some laser etched, different font sizes, etc...almost like this set was cobbled together from the leftovers of other sets. - The handles all feel like theyre made of chromed maxcheapium. - The die handle has this silly little lens to help guide the die, except this thing is so fiddly its even harder to use than to ignore.
