> 24 hourThere are no assembly or quick start instructions that come with the monitor so you have to figure out the basics of assembling the stand and hooking up the monitor on your own. Out of the box, the display is blinding, retina-searingly bright. Im not exaggerating--there was ghosting of the image from the monitor still in my eyes when I closed them. The six(!) unlabeled buttons under the monitor are not intuitive (except for the power button, which is logically the one on the outside) and even after downloading and reading the instruction manual it took me about 10 minutes to figure out how to navigate the button/menu combination so I could turn down the brightness. Once I turned down the brightness the picture was crisp with good but not great colors. The old Samsung monitor that this replaced had a much warmer, more natural picture. On the other hand, the Samsung monitor had a pretty narrow viewing angle and if you were even a bit off to the side the quality of the picture changed noticeably. This monitor has a very wide viewing angle, with no distortion or darkening of the picture if you are viewing the monitor even at a sharp angle. Its possible that this monitor will grow on me with extended use and that I will get used to the colors, which are much brighter and cooler than I am accustomed to. But theres no excuse for a monitor to ship out with default settings so bright they can damage your eyes or for the difficult to navigate button/menu combination. I wish that I had purchased a different monitor but the exceptionally glowing reviews this one received had me fooled and now that the thing is open and hooked up theres really not much I can do--if I return it simply because I dont like it Amazon will charge me for return shipping and likely a restocking fee as well. I guess thats the chance you take when you buy an item like this over the internet without the chance to see it in person first. If you are looking for a warm and natural looking picture this is definitely not the monitor to buy. Consider yourself warned.

> 24 hourBest monitor for the money. Excellent viewing angles (178 degrees), sharp text, and vivid colors. Has a very sturdy base that the monitor sits on. All in all, a very good monitor for general use. I dont play video games. So the rating for gaming does not really apply to my use of this monitor. I also like the easy access to the buttons that control the monitor.

> 24 hourSeems to be a decent economy monitor. I like that it has 3 different kinds of hook ups but the power input is different than the 3 prong monitors so you cant substitute cords. The only downside I can see as of now is that you can not adjust the hight but I knew that going in. If it stands the test of time Id buy again.

> 24 hourI have three of these monitors in surround. I am a pretty serious gamer and I wanted these monitors for the thin bezels and anti glare screen. All was good when I got them and set them up. Man do they look nice! The stand is pretty high quality and the screen in very thin. On first boot they were bright and decently colorful. Not as good as my old one, but for the price not bad. I soon noticed that the color was not the same on all monitors. one of them had slightly less bright whites, and one had whites with a slight tint of yellow. This was mostly fixed with some adjusting in the settings. So far these issues are easy to look over since they look so nice and nothing beats having three identical monitors. However they are not that great for the one reason I bought them for: Gaming. These monitors have SERIOUS image ghosting. If you dont know what this is, its when the pixels leave a shadow behinds moving images on the screen because they cant change color fast enough. This adds very noticeable white and black shadows in every game even the desktop. Coming from a higher quality (now discontinued monitor) these do not perform very well in that regard. The pixels are very slow. Even textures with little contrast get blurred when moving forward. Now I am giving 4 stars because of the price/performance. They do what they said and look nice. But if you are a serious gamer that is used to a nice responsive image look for a lower latency panel.

> 24 hourJust received mine today to replace an older Acer display that is going on to other uses in my house. Installed the base no problem, hooked it up, no problem and off and running. First thing I noticed is that it is much brighter and crisper than the LCD screen it replaced. I am not an expert on color reproduction and all that. It seemed fine right out of the box. I did some minor tweaking in my NVIDIA control panel to tone down the brightness by about 3% but other than that, nothing. I play an online multiplayer game and I immediately noticed how much smoother this was and everything looked almost new. My old LCD was still a pretty good 5ms monitor, but this one transitions so much better. Other notes: -Using a DVI-D connection to my computer - I have a lot of cables lying around and for me the included VGA cable goes into the electronics recycle bin -This monitor uses a power brick but it is so small, its more like a power mouse -The base is great, my old monitor used to shake when the washing machine went into spin cycle. This one doesnt move a bit. -For the money, if you are looking for a good monitor without a ton of features, just want to plop it on your desk and be done with it, this is a great deal. -This monitor appears to be exclusive to Amazon. -Its a very nice design, very pleasing to the eye. -I have this side-by-side with a very high quality HP display and I think the two are comparable. With my old display, when I switched from one to the other, it looked like going from a shiny new car to an old rusted beater.

> 24 hourThis is one of many Acer monitors I have purchased over the years. I never cease to be amazed at the brilliance and clarity that Acer delivers for the price. The monitor itself comes packaged very nicely in full wrap styrofoam with a screen protecting layer sheet wrapped around the monitor itself. When you take it out, it weighs practically nothing, and at first you thing Ehhh on the quality. But the nice thing is that the whole front of the monitor is all screen with a very very thin black frame. Dont let the light weight fool you, this monitor is no joke amazing. The base takes a bit of practice to put together. The bottom round portion is quite thick, metal, and sturdy with a heavy duty plastic arm that offsets the monitor. After it is put together its very customizable in angle and position. Its a little tricky to make sure the monitor really clicks in to the arm that supports it. If you have to take it back apart for any reason, just be aware there are little push points you have to depress to get the stand pieces back apart. That was the only time I thought of the arm as cheap because I thought it would break was in trying to take it back apart to pack away. But it proved to be very strong and I was impressed. When it is all done, its very minimalist looking and a nice addition to the office. I am very pleased and I would purchase over and over again.
