My husband has gone through several laptops and has rebuilt several from defective power cords to bad hinges and this is his all time favorite!

Ive had this laptop since 2019. Still works perfect for my GIS and AutoCAD related workload. People are exaggerating how hot this gets, its actually quite impressive for the price I paid $900. Upgraded it with an additional 2TB HDD sehate Firecuda. Dont hesitate to purchase it you wont regret it!

I had to update my review after using this laptop for a month to let you know how hot the Predator gets. The 6 core processor has a 100 Celsius limit before it shuts down mine is already hitting 95. I lowered the voltage -164 to get it down by 5 degrees Celsius and have been using my laptop large twin fan cooler underneath. You might as well understand that Acer uses crappy thermal paste so be ready to dismantle the case to clean up the paste mess and apply a quality thermal paste to drop the temps by 10 degrees Celsius. It didnt matter if I ran the fan to 6000 rpms this laptops cooling system just cant keep 6 cores cool. Good news is the 8750H processor no longer uses the aluminum cover like the 2017 versions processor which means you can apply liquid metal if you choose to do so. Other than the intense heat I am loving this laptop but I cant imagine those of you using this laptops keyboard with so much heat buildup, I use a usb redragon and keep the laptops keyboard lights off to control heat. Just giving you a heads up so you know what to expect. Also there are plenty of videos on Youtube which show you how to dismantle and fix these heat issues, also to help you undervolt the cpu & gpu which will lower temps without too much loss of framerate. Hope this was helpful.

For the price this is a very solid machine - I dont do a ton of really heavy gaming but do play some and it has preformed great. I also use it for solidworks and 3d printing and its been more than enough for my hobbyist requirements. I love the feel of the keyboard and it has a nice screen. Personally I think the look is terrible , it loos like a 12 year old designed it... its too angry and looks like its trying too hard... I also dont really care so its all good as I will not use this for business use and prefer my XPS15 in both size, looks and portability. The bloatware is also a pain for a minute until its all gone.

Purchased as it was amazons choice and a great price for a gaming PC. Was good for a while with minimal use and all of a sudden the screen damaged out of nowhere while watching Netflix. I do enjoy the pc but the quality of the screen doesn’t seem to last long.

This is an upgrade from the 2017s Helios 300, and a good upgrade it is. I got this during Black Friday sale, but been eyeing it for long time. Compare to other laptop with same specs, you are getting a better deal with this. Pretty much a full 144hz display and an overclock i7 chip. The build is quite strong and there is barely any form of flex on both keyboard and display. With the 1060 6GB, you are pretty much getting a full desktop power in a portable system. The keyboard isnt super bright, nor dim. Sadly you cant change the brightness level of the keyboard nor the colors. The track pad is right about the good size and uses standard windows drivers and it has soft clicks, same goes with the keyboard. Having an access to HDD upgrade and Ram upgrade is a great bonus as it is one screw away to upgrade.

The Acer Helios Laptop is great for the price with the 144hz monitor but the constant FPS drops during gaming is making me think of returning it and getting a different gaming laptop. The only way that I found online to reduce the FPS drop is by lowering the processor minimum and maximum state to 75%, which drops the FPS by 30.

I got this laptop , because i found that what you payed for was a good bang for the buck. However, two days into owning the machine the intel ssd that came in the laptop started to throw windows errors. Which would cause the machine to detect no bootable device and crash. So, i sent it to get repaired via Acer repair center and it took almost a month to get the mahince back. Not happy with the poor quality parts and the really long wait time for acer to repair your products.
