Aftershokz Aeropex Mini (Rebranded as Shokz OpenRun Mini) Bone Conduction Wireless Bluetooth Headphones

The verdict is still out as I’ve only had these a couple of days but here’s my thoughts:

Good to use when industrial safety does not allow earbuds/headphones. These allow you to wear earplugs and still be able to listen to music/audio. If you don’t need them for this purpose, go get some earbuds/headphones. You will be better served. The sound is like when you listen to something through a plastic solo cup over your ear. Good enough but they will never have the sound quality that a good quality set of earbuds/headphones does.

The device is well-made and well designed - lightweight, comfortable, sleek, intuitive. The company uses top quality materials and has an iron-clad guarantee they really stand behind. Customer service is a snap. Im so happy with this item and I think you will be too.

Cool product that give a new way of listening to music but died within 7 months. Cant charge and cant power up. Also this product sometime give me headache. No adjustment. For the price I was expecting it to last at least a couple of years.

So yes the over the ear with bone conduction (not really) is cool. However, because its a speaker in the headphones and Im hard of hearing I have to turn the volume almost all the way up. When I do that the headphones vibrate on my face making it extremely discomforting to wear them. There is a connectivity issue after having these for 3 or 4 months. Ill be watching a show or listing to music and it cuts out for a split second and comes back really annoying when it happens 8x in 10 seconds. They claim water proof but they arent. They are very water resistant but not water proof. This is my 2nd pair in less than a year due to damages covered by the warranty. I dont recommend them unless you like wasting your hard earned money.

Great product for cyclists. You can listen to music and be totally aware of your surroundings without sacrificing safety. I love this product.

Summary: These arent going to blow you away with sound quality, but thats not the point. If you like to run/bike/hike/whatever AfterShokz are amazing. Also great to use while cutting grass or any other really loud activity since you can use ear plugs.

On the trails I run, mountain bikers are a constant concern and these headphones let me enjoy music without being oblivious to my surroundings. The way that you still hear nearby sounds and listen to music is best described as youre listening to a well mixed movie, balancing the ambience of nature with whatever youre listening to.

I think Aftershokz is on to something here. I was really skeptical before buying but glad I did. Mostly very comfortable although I wish the bar in the back was either adjustable or not there. Call quality is great, and is great for audiobooks. As others have said the music quality could use a bit of help but not as bad as I thought. I think Aftershokz has the opportunity to make them the perfect headset with a few improvements.

I really like the product I’ll try to update this after I have used them more. Very light weight. Comfortable and good sound quality. They are not noise canceling at all (that’s one of the reasons to have them) unless you use earplugs.
