Amazon Basics External Hard Drive Portable Carrying Case

I am always skeptical about purchasing so called Generic products but I must say that being an avid Amazon fan and their great service they provide I decided to trust them and get it to protect my newly purchased Toshiba portable hard drive.

Had one and lost it, so got a new.. Probably says everything. Basic and cheap. Has net for cables etc. on one side. Fits my WD external My Passport drive very well with a few other smaller things too such as a card reader, three usb-sticks and a usb cable. Used for a lot of travel (a lot, a lot). Protective shell is excellent. Will get used to look at if you are traveling intensely as I am. But no loss of functionality.

I own 5 or 6 of these cases. They are perfect for protecting your external drive and its cord together. My husband carries his for work and likes having the case not only to protect the drive from falls, but also so that he always knows where to find the cord. The size is compact so that it fits my WD and Seagate drives under the elastic and the cord in the mesh pocket. There is room in the pocket for an additional flash drive or two as well if needed. Works perfectly for my needs.

I love this case from AmazonBasics. The WD passport fits like a glove, with the cable nicely wrapped on the other side. The case is quite sturdy and feels more like a hard case. It will protect your HD just fine.

This case is perfect to hold my 2TB Western Digital My Passport X drive I use for my Xbox 360 when taking it over to a friends house every few weeks. It seems sturdy enough to handle a short drop onto a hard surface, although I havent and wouldnt actually test that theory. The drive slips easily into the elastic holder on one side and the USB cable goes into the webbed pocket on the other side, and its good to go. If you want that extra little layer of protection when transporting your external drive this is a great way to go.

I was wary of this case at first because of the price. However, it is of great quality and is a nice tough protective shell. The re is plenty of space inside for cable storage and Im very happy with it.
