AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-core, 12-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor with Wraith Stealth Cooler

I was able to get one of these day 1 at a Micro Center. Unfortunately when I got home and opened the box I was stricken to find that 2 of the CPU pins were bent in a 45 degree angle. I was so upset, not because of the pins being bent completely beyond repair but because I knew that once I got back to the store they would be out of stock. I was able to get a full refund and now I wait for them to come back. Perhaps now instead of getting the 5600 ill treat myself and upgrade all the way to the 5900 which is the one that I originally wanted anyways.

I was trying to upgrade my PC from Win 10 to Win 11. My motherboard (MB) is ASUS ROG Crosshair VI WiFi-AC, using an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 CPU. The Microsoft Health Check indicated my CPU was not compatible with Win 11. So, I checked the ASUS Web site and found Ryzen 5 5600X to be compatible with both Win 11 and my MB. When I installed this CPU on the MB and powered up, got error 8 on the board QLED. Called ASUS tech support, the guy said my MB was out of warranty and he would not talk to me. My MB was purchased 12 1/2 month ago. After arguing with him he said the error was due to the power supply and I needed a 850 watt power supply (I had 650) - this was BS. I replaced the power supply with 850 watt, same error. Called ASUS again and the guy says had to flash the BIOS. Gave me a link to a new BIOS. Flashed the BIOS and this time got error code od on the MB QLED. The board manual says this error code is used for future errors. ASUS tech support sucks. Was about the give up - called AMD tech support, nice guy told me was using the wrong BIOS. Pointed me to the right BIOS and said flash the BIOS if that does not work, he would escalate the ticket to someone who would take care of me. What a difference in tech support. Flashed the bios to version 8503 x 64 dated 3/16/2022 and sure enough the system booted with no errors. My point is that if you plan to use this CPU to replace an older one, be sure your MB is compatible and that the BIOS is up-to-date. Upgraded to Win 11 and love the performance. Love Amazon too with their excellent customer service.

Great gaming cpu, shouldn’t really bottleneck any gpu, doesnt bottleneck my 3070, runs very hot though

Conforme aux attentes / processeur efficace cependant au niveau de la livraison effectué par colissimo livraison très longue. Les livreurs de la poste sont moins efficaces que les livreurs amazon mais au moins le colis est quand même arrivé à bon port, ce qui est déjà une petite victoire

Al momento de montar mi pc, me encuentro de que no encajan en la placa madre por lo cual inmediatamente me pregunto el porque, observo en varios tutoriales que si no entra solo es porque los pines pueden estar doblados, y en efecto, estaban doblados por lo cual no entraba en la placa, llego a tiempo antes de lo esperado pero con golpes la caja supongo que fue por eso que pudo haberse doblado.

FAST and in a great price range !

Runs great with an RTX 3070 Ti graphics card. I have zero complaints so far.
