23-11-2024The clamshell packaging which contains the actual chip was OPEN in the box. Unfortunately I did not realize this, and as I removed the clamshell package from the box, the chip FELL OUT, bending many of the pins.

> 3 dayI wanted a 5900x but couldnt get one so picked up one of these. This CPU is too expensive in comparison to 5600x. It also runs insanely hot, like to where I thought I had problems. But researching on Reddit I discovered that this heat issue is common. Save the $150 and buy a 5600x or spend the extra $100 and buy a 5900x. This CPU is too expensive and has problems.

> 3 dayGot this one directly from Amazon cuz the 5600x was out of stock and was harder to catch in stock and I did not want to pay the crazy prices that resellers charge for it on eBay. So far the performance is pretty poggers, huge improvement compared to my old Intel CPU in everything, works great in Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro AC mobo (it may require you to flash it with Q-Flash Plus feature if the mobo comes with early version of BIOS and you dont have CPU which is supported by that old BIOS but only this new 5800x). The temps are kinda MonkaS - I get over 80C when running latest Cinebench R23, but this is with a somewhat inexpensive Arctic Freezer 34 CO cooler and according to AMD dudes temps up to 90C are normal for this CPU and youll probably get better temps if youll go with Noctuas cooler or liquid cooling.
