What can I say? My first custom build PC since 2008. Originally I wanted the 5900x but this one became available and I was lucky to purchase it within 15 seconds of in-stock alert. This thing is absolute beast and will last me for the next 6-8 years for my trading/gaming/WFH purposes. Now I need to get my GFX card and I am set to go.

Perfect for the setup I needed fast arrival

I decided to max out my Socket AM4 workstation (mostly for JavaScript work on Linux) now that prices are dropping rather than wait for the first generation of AM5 hardware to come out.

So I have both the 11900k and a 12900k, the 12900k is faster for ram speed but has issues when populating all 4 slots. I have this cpu and the 11900k with the same Kingston fury 128GB 3200 ram kit. When dealing with databases they perform almost the same. During heavy loads the 5950X barely beats it out.

I upgraded from a 2700x.

This chip is a massive beast. It will make your ram and ssd feel slow with how quickly it tears through workloads. I use it for statistical analysis and for encoding video and the integer performance is absolutely incredible. Works out of the box on Ubuntu 20.10 without any issues. This thing is the best chip you can get on a micro atx and its absolutely incredible. Could probably benefit from a lot more L3 because its just too fast for even the fastest ram kits out there.

It is a very good chip, but what I received in the package was not the chip. I received a box full of paper face masks. I returned it and still waiting for my full refund. I have since ordered the same chip, for the same price from new egg and it even got to me a lot faster than the order from Amazon.
