APC Surge Protector, White Power Strip PH8W, 2160 Joules, Flat Plug, 8 Outlet Power Strip

Fortunately I pugged a lamp into the outlet strip, because after 14 months the bulb started flickering, changed bulb, and bulb still flickered, I listened closely to the outlet strip and heard it making a slight crackling sound and it also had a faint electric odor. The bulb informed me the unit was delivering bad electric to my sensitive equipment. Now I am worried about the other 3 I bought, keep or trash them too?

Bought this for security and peace offend for charging electronics and running a shop vac off of a generator that we use at our cabin. Works great - no issues. IMO, an excellent value

After endless research and not finding any option that had reassuring reviews I finally asked our family IT expert to help me pick a decent option. We are setting up a home office and needed a surge protector for the printer etc as we have seasonal power outages here. This one feels pretty sturdy as surge protectors go. It has a nice look to it. I like the option of having USB ports in it, so a charging cord can be plugged in and ready to go for a device. Weve only had it a month so I cant speak to longevity but so far so good!

I like this product, especially the USB ports. Suggestions for the manufacturer: separate the outlets a bit so square transformers/blocks dont overlap with other outlets. The blocks I use effectively make this a 5 outlet strip rather than 8

Theres one minor issue with this, which is the mounting holes on the back. Theyre 3-sided (T-shaped) as you can see in the picture, and the one side thats missing is the orientation that you are most likely to want to mount it, with the three sideways plugs downward so that large power bricks fit there and hang downward. Other than that, its a quality product.

One of the common flaws of single width strips is the inability to accommodate more than 1 adapter unless you want to waste the sockets as the adapter obstructs/covers the adjacent sockets. This one has 2 rows with sockets at 90 degrees. As such, adapters face outward and do not obstruct adjacent sockets. Well made and sturdy, typical of APC quality. Hopefully the surge protection wont be tested but gives you peace of mind to know that all plugged in devices are protected. I have it mounted under my office desk using the mounting holes at the back. Great value for the money.

My prior experience with APC surge protectors prompted me to purchase this item for my iPad and iPhone charging station. So far, no issues with APC.

Not too much thicker than a normal surge protector. Port placements are great to allow multiple large plug types. Hope I never have to rate the actual surge protection.

We have always used APC surge protectors with all our computers and refrigerators. We also use them with our Christmas tree lights so all we have to do is touch the button with a top tap to turn on or off. As you get older you will appreciate that :)
