I havent figured out how to use them with my power heads yet, as the diameter of the sponge is so large the power head sits too far from the glass to mount it. Im probably going to try a different diameter if I use it with power heads in my 75 gallon, but works great in my 29. Takes up some space though.

How it functions:
Sponge filter is an efficient and excellent method of filtration for your fish tank. This sponge filter works with an external air pump or an integral water pump.
The air pump pushes air into the hollow cavity inside the sponge filter thru the tubing, and bubbles rise from the toplift tube thus drawing water thru the sponge walls. It provides mechanical and bio filtration for your tank.
Easy maintenance:
Scoop some old tank water out of your tank into a bucket; wash the sponge in the water and squeeze out the buildup until it"s clean. Sponge needs to be cleaned every month. It"s recommended to change out 25-30% of the water weekly.
