> 24 hourI’ve ordered $10 items off of Amazon their box better than this $500 air compressor. Hopefully ARB made these strong because this box looks abused.

> 24 hourBeen using it about 16 months now and it has begun to squeal like a pig, I am talking with ARB USA now. Lets see how this turns out Update #1 They are requesting that I ship it to them (at my expense) Will let you know what that cost? Update #2 Finally got around to sending it back , $18.75 to ship it via USPS Flat Rate Large box. Sent it on the May 17th. , they got it on the May 19th. Update #3 I just heard from them yesterday. even though they couldnt replicate the problem (Screeching when cold) , they are replacing the unit with a new one anyway (+1 for customer service) Update 4. The new one doesnt t like the cold either, but out of warranty now.

> 24 hourMADE IN CHINA. Thats the FIRST thing that should be known about this compressor, so keep this in mind. With that said, so far, it appears to be a top quality compressor. If you are used to the big box compressors here are a few differences between the ARB and the standard Chinamercan stuff: - quiet, it sounds solid and tight, it doesnt make a racket, a nice mellow tone - hard-wired to the battery, no more jumper cables, fumbling for the box, putting the compressor back in the box, etc.. mount it anywhere, including under the hood - switch, relay, and wiring harness all included, mount the switch on the dash somehwere.. use a dremel or whatever you got to cut a space for the switch - good air compression, unlike other big box compressors this one never sounds like its struggling, instead it sounds like it is well capable of doing what its supposed to do, this is phychologically reassuring - manifold with pressure switch, this means you hit the on button, it fills the manifold for a split second and the compressor STOPS, now you can go from tire to tire and fill up without having the thing run constantly - the kit does NOT include a hose or tire inflator - sold seperatley... Overall, so far so good, though I havent used it much (thankfully) .. mah use is primarily for tire fills and some random blow-gun action (ie cleaning stuff) What would be better? If it was NOT made in CHINA. Japan or Australia would be prefereable, even if the price were DOUBLE.... Alas this is the way of thy world... I suspect China will have more tiers to their quality as demand and competition continue to grow...

> 24 hourThis compressor is highly thought of, but I found several issues that I would not expect in a high end product: 1) The housing at the outlet port appears to be made of cast aluminium, and cracked causing a huge air leak. 2) The steel shroud protecting the outlet side of the compressor unnecessarily interferes with the installation of a fitting to the outlet port. 3) The electrical connectors connecting the wire loom to the compressor are difficult to lock. On the positive side, this compressor fits into small spaces, and is pretty easy to install. I am exchanging the compressor for a replacement, and will update this review if necessary after I receive the replacement. UPDATE, FEBRUARY 8, 2018: I have received and installed the replacement compressor. Sexton accepted the faulty compressor back with no hassle whatsoever. Given the good response, I have upgraded my overall rating from 3 to 4 stars, For those thinking about running any sort of air tools from this compressor, you will definitely need an air tank. Dont count on more than a 20% to 40% duty cycle as this compressor cant keep up with any more. This is not a fault, this compressor does everything that it was designed to do. It is fine for inflating tires, air mattresses, etc. I am able to run a pneumatic impact wrench in short bursts to remove lug nuts with the addition of a small (500 ml) air tank. Overall, I would buy this compressor again.

> 24 hourI loved this compressor when I first got it, but it just doesnt hold up. Ive had it about 6 years and good thing its a dual because one side or the other is always broken. Ive had 3 brush failures, and one broken rod bolt. The compressor itself is fast, and relatively simple to fix. I mounted it under the passenger seat and its a pain to get it out to fix it. I currently need to swap the motor from the broken rod bolt in to fix another motor brush problem. When the motor gets hot, the wire comes unsoldered from the brush. Im about ready to trash it and try something else.

> 24 hourFirst, if I could give it 6 stars, I would. Before the nitty gritty details get fleshed out, you will love this compressor. Set up: it is very important to spend time to choose a location in/on your vehicle that is cool and within your skill set. If you choose the rear of your vehicle you will need large Guage battery wire to add onto the supplied wire (which is more than long enough for installation in the engine bay). If you choose to run the switch into your dash you will need to prepare, find two connections (an ignition source and power source). This means you need to have adequate skills to run wires through the firewall, find and splice wires, and cut an opening to mount the switch. Do yourself a favor: be prepared with a plan before you begin installation. Connections: I chose to keep the switch and all components in the engine bay, as seen in the picture. That said, Jeeps have gigantic engine bays. I used a fuse add a circuit. It cost $10 at Autozone and it took about 3 minutes to connect. I would recommend the same approach if you choose to install into the dash, it is that easy. Mechanical connections; it comes with all you need to set up but you will to buy the specific pieces you need for your setup (again, PLAN ahead). Use: I have 31 tires. It took me longer to let air out than the compressor did to inflate them. I aired down to 10psi then inflated to 45psi, it was done in about 10 minutes. Get yourself a Guage pressure tool and you will cut at least 1 minute off. In that ten minutes the compressor reached a few hundred degrees ( I know because I accidently touched it, big dummy). So, again, find a cool and open location. I am seriously amazed. The finished installation runs around $300, depending on your custom setup. For an inexpensive option this tool is well built and performs its given function quite well. I want one for each of my other vehicles. Buy it, NOW.

> 24 hourI purchased this compressor to mount under the hood of my Chevy Colorado. I ordered the compressor and was surprised to have it the next day. I had used the free shipping that stated 5-8 days. I was very surprised. I opened the box to find the compressor and parts to be in excellent condition. The box contained everything needed for installation. It even had ring terminals and connectors to wire the harness to the battery. I was very happy with the wiring harness as well. The harness that is supplied with the compressor is designed for lockers, but I am using this compressor for tire fills. The harness was labeled very well and instructions were clear. I had no trouble with the wiring harness. The harness is plug and play. ARB even leaves one plug disconnected so only a small hole has to be drilled to get the switch to the cab area. I simply taped off the wires that I was not using. The wiring had a nice looking switch that is designed to be recessed in a small cut out. I found the switch to be good. The location I mounted the compressor was very tight, but the mount is made to pivot. I was unaware that the compressor body and manifold tube can also be rotated to facilitate various mounting locations. The compressor itself was heavier that I expected, but that was great. The compressor feels well made. I mounted the compressor and made the appropriate wiring connections under the hood. I actually mounted the switch under the hood as well. I used a small plastic gang box used in home wiring and used a Dremel Tool to route out a hole for the switch. I then used a metal plate to cover the box. I was then ready to use the compressor for the first time. I hit the switch and the compressor fired right up. The compressor only ran for about two seconds and shut down. The compressor comes with a pressure switch that shuts down the unit at around 90-100psi. The manifold tube is very small and it gets to that pressure very quick. The manifold tube also has a built in pressure safety relief valve just in case the pressure switch fails. I am not sure what pressure is required to permit the safety valve to operate. I had to source my own fittings to use the compressor as a tire fill unit. I did not purchase the kit offered by ARB because I can build it cheaper myself. I spent an additional $15.00 to make a manifold for my tire fill kit. I had to buy several pieces due to my mounting location under the hood. I also suggest to anyone that purchases the ARB tire fill kit to buy some Teflon tape. I completed the procedure and was ready to fill a tire. It should be noted that I already had 50 feet of 3/8 air hose and fitting to use the compressor. I wanted enough hose to reach from the engine bay to the tires on my travel trailer without uncoupling the trailer. I had been carrying a portable air tank in my truck that holds 120 psi. I decided to test the compressor by filling it up. I turned on the switch and watched the hose fill with air. The compressor then promptly shut off as designed. I filled my air tank from approx 40 psi to 90psi in approx 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. The compressor stopped filling at 90 psi. I was still impressed at the speed given the size of the compressor. I filled a car tire from 10 psi to 32 psi the next day and was equally impressed at the compressor. I think it was a wise investment and would buy it again if I had to go back. My installation took my friend and I two hours to complete. I had a small area to work with and had to build some tools to install some small screws in a tight place. I think my installation time was long, but I had a unique mounting location. Anyone with basic skills could install this compressor easily. I needed to drill three holes. The mounting plate has four holes, but I didnt use one due to mounting location restrictions. This is a good compressor and I hope to use it for many years. Good luck.

> 24 hourI just sold a vehicle which had an ARB compressor and it got a LOT of use over 5 years, so I didnt have to think twice about getting another one for my new vehicle. You know there is plenty of thought put into the kit and an eye toward quality when you see how well the wiring loom is put together, which makes for an easy and clean installation.
