Arches Watercolor Block, Cold Press 9X12

I have been using this paper for years and I love it. When doing watercolor it’s forgiving, meaning if you make a mistake it’s easier to fix. I would recommend it even for beginners because you won’t be as frustrated as with other papers.

It definitely makes a difference to use quality paper.

Just what the wife wanted.

Costly but worth it, never have to worry that the paper will be a cause of a mistake. For me, that makes it worthwhile.

Beginner in watercolor, used other watercolor papers. Now I realize I was missing on the fun of watercolor. Very good for flow of colors, can tolerate masking fluid well, and also adhesive tapes. Since its pre-stretched in block, that makes things much more easier.

I have always used this block. I find that I like the way the paints flow and I have a lot of control with it!!

I love the paper

The Arches Aquarelle is excellent paper. The block format prevents imperfections in the paper surface from having been touched, either in the factory or at the store. Greasy fingers make the watercolor look splotchy. The chemical treatment for absorption slowing is IN the paper rather than ON the paper and it is cotton rag rather than wood pulp. If you want to have a satisfying session of painting by watercolor, THIS is the product to get. It IS expensive. But if you buy the cheap stuff, you may eventually loose the enthusiasm for painting at all.
