2003 Tahoe LT tried many pullers and none of the auto stores carried the necessary rental. Bought this and am super impressed! Nice case, multiple length rods for different engines. The tool is sturdy as can be. For the price it’s very nice. The longest rod worked for my Tahoe. The rod goes thru the harmonic balancer into the crank shaft and is what the tool centers on. I added rubber bands surrounding the arms so that you could easily attach arms to back of harmonic balancer without it slipping off. As GM leaves very small grab points for the arms the arm ends need to have some bite and not be rounded. These were perfect!

Ad clearly says Spring loaded legs i thought that would be a nice feature on a puller, if the jaws would hang onto the pulley during positioning. However, there are zero springs, legs just flop around loosely like any other puller. Anyway, it seems well built, but havent used it yet. Just kindof annoyed that the actual tool features didnt match the description, so i knocked it down a star.

I used the second rod size to pull the harmonic balancer/crankshaft pulley on my Ecoboost 2015 Expedition. Make sure the jaws are centered in the pulley, turn slightly clockwise to lock it behind the ears in the pulley, set the tension, and then start turning the center bolt. It came right off after a few minutes of turning the bolt.

Worked as described but I had an issue on the first use. While removing my front pulley on a 6.0l LQ4 I had to use the long bar for the removal. Well it bent on the very first use. I can probably straighten it out and can still use it but just seems strange it would bend on first use. Other than that it worked good and I’m sure it’ll work again.

We struggled for 2 days trying to get harmonic balancer off and tried heating to it was red hot. We broke 3 tools and could not get it off. It took 10 minutes to get it off with this tool. Highly recommend getting this. We also got the fly wheel tool to secure the fly wheel which I would recommend to buy together. If you do engine repairs this should be in your tool box
