> 3 dayThis Blu Ray drive should have been rated 4 Stars. It is very well designed and built. It works well. I reduced the rating from 5 stars to 4 because the top surface is not flat. Therefore, most items can NOT be placed on the top. I further reduced the rating because the description is either misleading or a flagrant lie. This unit is incapable of playing Blu Ray DVDs on a Mac. I spent a frustrating hour on the phone with Asus Customer Support to no avail. The Asus website asks for the operating system being used with this drive, and the ONLY choices appearing on their pick list are Windows. I returned thus Asus drive to Amazon.

> 3 dayPerfect for my needs. I use it to play blu ray movies/tv shows and organize my music collection. Sturdy and easy to use. A little big to be truly portable, but that does not matter for my needs, used on my desktop PC.

Greater than one weekThis is a nice unit but it does not come with software to play discs. Had I known that before hand I would not have purchased it. Demerits for ASUS.

> 3 dayeasy to setup and install drivers. I do not recommend using the software provided to rip dvds or BluRays. I have used handbrake over the years, but I prefer makeMKV, because it doesnt matter if its tv shows or a movie makeMKV breaks apart all the episodes for you, unlike handbrake which you have to add all of the episodes to the queue manually.

> 3 day3.5 stars. It looks like an artist designed it. The rear of-off switch is hard to operate and feels like it could break off at any minute. The front open and close switch is also hard to use. More attention was paid to the giant bright, faceted blue light on top, than making it a bombproof, robust external optical drive. It just feels flimsy and cheap. My other optical disc drives are internal LG drives and housed in aluminum enclosures to use externally. They cost a lot less than this drive and they feel like you could hammer nails with them. For the amount they charge for the ASUS optical disc drive, they could have built a better drive. Ive had no issues burning M-Disc, BD-R and DVDs with this drive. The review is for design, which is disappointingly cheap and hard to operate. Daniel D. Teoli Jr. Archival Collection Daniel D. Teoli Jr. Small Gauge Film Archive Daniel D.
