I bought this umbrella as I needed a lightweight travel version mostly for sun protection. I wanted something I could keep at the office or carry in my bag as I walk around town or to/from work. It doesnt offer that much sun protection. I can feel the sun rays penetrating through and it doesnt feel cooler under it at all (unlike my Sun Tek golf umbrella). This may work well for light rain, but any gust of wind will tug on the umbrella. The seller did reach out to me and provided an option for a refund because this didnt meet my expectations which was more than generous. In my view, theyre up front about their product and its not their fault Im highly sun sensitive and was looking for something more. It has a great pattern, and is small and portable, so it depends on your intended use.

We bought one a year ago. Totally works to reduce heat from the sun. Used it in the Caribbean, Bahamas, and in the Everglades. Definitely noticed huge difference when under the umbrella versus standing directly in the sun. Decided to buy another, but wanted a different color or print. I ordered and returned two other umbrellas and bought a second of this one. This umbrella set the mark, and the others were significantly lower quality, even with their good reviews. What works: Color is good. Print is pleasing. Material is very sturdy and has no bad odor (the other two had strange and stinky fabric). Handle is comfortable enough, though it would be nice to have it a little longer. Opens very easily with one button push. Closes fairly easy with a button push and then collapsing the shaft manually. Definitely superior to the others we tried. Wish it came from this company in other colors or prints. Overall excellent value for the low price.

Ive bought this item a few times in the past, and each time, I could use it daily (I use it both in the rain and as a parasol on sunny days) for a long time. However, this last time I purchased it, it was slightly different from before (i.e., a bit more lightweight and the fastener is now a button rather than Velcro). I was fine with the changes until the cord snapped two weeks after I got it (thankfully, it was only drizzling at the time and not a heavy rain). This is a very pretty umbrella, so its upsetting that its now so poorly constructed. UPDATE TO THE ABOVE REVIEW: The defective umbrella actually still works, but once in a while it would suddenly collapse as described in my first review. I then have to close it completely and open it again (and then itll work fine until the next time it collapses by itself). However, I actually got a replacement for the defective one, and havent had any issues with the new one. So maybe the defect is just a fluke? Overall, I have to say this is still one of the prettiest and most useful umbrella/parasols Ive bought on Amazon. I do carry a parasol every day (Im very conscientious about sun protection!), so have tried several different ones from different sellers, but I keep going back to this one.

This piece is sturdy, with a beautiful print and the handle is very nice- upscale. A little hard to close, but you just have to push it together a little harder than I thought. Much nicer than a plain umbrella. The print is beautiful! I will be buying more in different art prints as well.

This umbrella is beautiful! It’s easy to open ( I love the automatic open and close feature), I also love using it to stay out of the sun. The UV protection keeps you cooler than using a regular umbrella.

This parasol is lovely, little larger than the other one I purchased so provides better cover. It pops up automatically and has a white lining. Much cooler than parasols with black lining. However, after using a couple times, the center post is much shorter and not as easy to hold and move around when walking; It keeps bumping my head it is so short. So far, it is extremely hard to close. Perhaps I just havent figured the knack of closing it, but does not close easily. Even though it is larger, think I like the smaller circumference parasol better. The white underside is definitely cooler than black for walking in the sun.

This is my second purchase. I dont know if the umbrella was that good or I just really like it and was careful with it. My first one lasted 2.5 years. It finally went to the Umbrella garbage heap because of sever winds and rain. I hope this one lasts as long or longer.

I purchased this umbrella used it once and now it wont fold. If you need a permanently opened umbrella this is the purchase you should make!

Love the design but not the structure of this umbrella. It is hard to open and close. It is not very sturdy and the handle is not comfortable. I gave it 3 stars because it does protect me from light rain. Even if I were to use it for more sun protection than rain, it still does not open and close easily.
