Greater than one weekI was standing under a hot sun one day waiting for a bus and thought to myself that there must surely be a parasol on sale that I could use. Sure enough, I found this pretty parasol complete with UV protection lining which also helps block the heat from the sun. It took a bit of bravery to use it on the streets of San Francisco, but hey, when youre roasting, its nice to be able to provide your own private haven. :)

> 3 dayI like to take walks on breaks at work. That puts me in the sun at the most UV intense time of the day. This umbrella provides portable shade for my walks. No chemical sunblock needed. Its pretty, easy to open and close, and withstands windy conditions quite nicely.

> 3 dayPerfect parasol! The pattern is just gorgeous and the interior is silvered for extra UV protection. The ribs are well constructed and the springs look good and are covered by plastic bits. Ive been using this parasol daily for six weeks and it has never turned inside out on me and the button mechanism is still going strong even after being closed and opened 8-10 times a day.

> 3 dayThis is a beautiful umbrella. I havent really had a chance to use it yet, but once my current umbrella bites the dust, I plan to put it into action. I did check it to make sure it works properly opening & closing, which it does. Living in SW Florida, my umbrellas get used a lot for both rain & sun protection, so Ive found I always need to keep one in reserve as a back-up for when I either lose the current umbrella, or the current umbrella breaks.

> 3 dayThis umbrella is well made and really beautiful. I just keep it in my purse for rainy/sunny days. Its easier to close if you pull down the piece that extends the umbrella and press the top of the umbrella towards a hard surface until you hear it click.

Greater than one weekI bought this umbrella years ago and Im still using it. Edit: Total of about 4 years before the metal started wearing down and the rust setting in. Im probably just gonna buy it again. Or maybe one with cats........ how long do we really expect umbrellas to last? 4 years is pretty good, I think. Oh, and I really like the button mechanism. You press the button and it goes POOF and its ready to go. And you press it again and it closes up. I like that style.

> 3 dayThis has become my favorite means for sun protection. Single finger, open/closed button makes it easy to use when hands are full. Once in a while the button can get stuck but easy to get back into place. The only downside is this version is normal umbrella size, which is okay but I find that for the summer I may want something wider.

> 3 dayBeautiful, blocks UV, but not all IR. I was looking for something that didnt have a black underside, and opened with a button push. This answered both wants - but lets through more heat than my parasol with the shiny black lining. If you dont mind the heat, this is a 5-star

> 3 dayVery effective sun umbrella. I stand outside in the heat watching children on the playground for sometimes hours at a time and this effectively keeps me much cooler underneath it than a regular umbrella. Size is small enough for one person to effectively hold, and the push button open/close works just fine. Only 4 stars because I fear that in a breeze it might bend. The handle isnt very thick. Would like to see a firmer construction, but overall, am very happy with this.
