> 3 dayIts hard to be concise here because I love this parasol/umbrella so much! Im very sun sensitive and this is like taking tree shade along with me as I walk! Its just marvelous! Ive been liberated to let the dog decide when he wants to finish the walk rather than me getting too much sun and forcing him to turn back! The umbrella is extremely well constructed and very sturdy. Nothing gets through this, unlike most umbrellas these days, and it stands up to wind. If you need something for yourself, or to keep UV rays off your children or strollers... THIS IS THE ONE! Besides, with the Van Gogh design, its also very stylish!

05-06-2025This is my second time purchasing this umbrella. I live in the cancer belt Texas. This umbrella had a reflective material on the inside and beautiful pattern on the outside. Ive used regular umbrellas before this for sun shade but I could feel the heat beat down on me while Im under it. To me, I feel less heat coming down to me with this umbrella. My last one has lasted all last year and should have lasted longer but my two toddlers got ahold of it. It snapped at the plastic area of one of the arms. My major complaint is that the string at the handle is too short to put around your wrist. Its short and seemingly made just for the purpose of hanging on a hook. No bueno when my hands are full with two toddlers. Edit: the new versions of these umbrellas now have a larger strap attached. I can thread my hand through. Its still not elastic though.

> 3 dayI like to take walks on breaks at work. That puts me in the sun at the most UV intense time of the day. This umbrella provides portable shade for my walks. No chemical sunblock needed. Its pretty, easy to open and close, and withstands windy conditions quite nicely.

> 3 dayI used it to my trip to Australia and New Zealand. UV protection is the main reason that I bought this umbrella. Before the trip, I tested it with a UV light - it blocks all UV lights. It looks beautiful too. Auto open and close are a plus. I recommend it.

> 3 dayThanks to various health conditions and medications, I am very sun sensitive. I love having this around so I can be in the shade regardless of where I am. Its most certainly NOT an umbrella - I would NOT get this wet. Its GREAT for staying cool when Pokemon Go hunting.

Greater than one weekWorks well to block out sun and heat, but takes an annoying amount of strength to push the umbrella down the last half inch to close it (Im a very able-bodied young person). I have to use two hands and hold it just so to do it. And the parasol has to be fully closed before it can be reopened. It appears you cant open it manually because it doesnt lock in the open position when you push it up with your hands- you have to use the button. Pretty significant design flaw. Van Gogh design is unique and pretty though. Update: The vendor provided very good customer service after hearing about my disappointment with this product.

> 3 dayI purchased this because the walking and waiting at bus stops during my commute had become unbearable and I had taken to using a regular umbrella which did help moderately but not nearly enough. I really have no complaints here - its a beautiful item and it holds up very well in the rain and wind, and while it wont make you feel like youre inside if its a really hot day, it does block the sun very effectively and its gotten rid of the farmers tan on my arms, haha. I also like the button that makes it very easy to collapse the canvas, though I agree with another review that said it takes a bit of strength to collapse the pole. Its fine for me, but it may not be for everyone. I also havent had any issue with accidentally closing the umbrella due to the button on the handle, but I could see how it would be a problem for someone holding on too tight in the wind (when its windy I actually grab the pole itself, so that may be the difference). I think my only suggestion for improvement would be to make the handle a bit easier to grip - because I bought this for its UV-protection properties, Im often using it when its hot outside, and when my hands get sweaty it really starts to slip. I sometimes wrap a washcloth around the handle to make it easier to hold! Overall Im extremely happy with my purchase and I consider the price to be a bargain!
