This umbrella is a game-changer. I bought it thinking Id be too embarrassed to use a parasol in public that it would be left unused in my closet. I was so wrong, this is a very beautiful parasol and it really has switched me from being lackadaisical about heading out into the sun to looking forward to sunny days so I can sport my parasol. Its definitely a fashion accessory and Ive gotten compliments from various women of all ages. I also love that I am getting adequate sun protection without having to wear sunscreen (I just dont like wearing it). The only reason I didnt give this five stars is because the connection between the handle and the shaft wobbles when faced with a mild breeze. It doesnt inhibit the parasols ability to maintain its shape but it does make me think twice about using the parasol when its breezy outside. I imagine if the model had slits in the design to allow for wind flow, this problem would be minimized.

Thanks to various health conditions and medications, I am very sun sensitive. I love having this around so I can be in the shade regardless of where I am. Its most certainly NOT an umbrella - I would NOT get this wet. Its GREAT for staying cool when Pokemon Go hunting.

The handle is just too short. Also, there was no UV info that came with the product, which was the reason I purchased it in the first place. I need UV protection for medical reasons, and the lack of information wasnt reassuring.

So I finally convinced my wife to get a Sun umbrella because she is photosensitive. If she is out in the sun for any length of time, my wife starts to swell (head, face, etc). She picked this umbrella because the pattern is pretty. She comments that its well-made, but personally I would open it gingerly to avoid breaking it. I am not a doctor, but she was also to use this, and all these items below to stay in the direct sunlight for a about an hour and half which is actually pretty amazing. Items used for Sun Protection: - Coolibar Zip Hoodie (Gray) - UnderArmor UV baseball cap (Gray) - Coolibar Fingerless Sun Gloves - Glodeals Umbrella - Sunpants (Hazy on manufacturer) - Benedryl (On standby) - Sunblock This was the 10:00 am to about 11:30 am sunlight in early October. The umbrella solved the issue of direct sunlight hitting her, which is what normally triggers any swelling. She did not have any adverse symptoms beside minorly overheating, which was solved with some iced drinks. This umbrella isnt a miracle, by any means, but used smartly in conjunction with other sun gear can you get out there to family events like seeing nephews and nieces in the pumpkin patch which you wouldnt normally be able to attend.

I was standing under a hot sun one day waiting for a bus and thought to myself that there must surely be a parasol on sale that I could use. Sure enough, I found this pretty parasol complete with UV protection lining which also helps block the heat from the sun. It took a bit of bravery to use it on the streets of San Francisco, but hey, when youre roasting, its nice to be able to provide your own private haven. :)

It is the actual design that you see in the picture. I had bought it to get protected by the arizona sun but woahhhh its doesnt work here. The silver coating inside the umbrella is a very thin one. The height upto which it opens is also a bit less. I would recommend this umbrella to people who want to use it in rains.

I use this every day on my walks to and from work, and it protects me from the brutal Florida sun. My only regret is the handle, it is 2 in length, not enough to get a good comfortable grip while on a lengthy walk. Also, previous reviews said that getting it back into the carry bag was difficult, and I agree completely, the bag is useless.

Lovely umbrella. Pros: offers excellent protection for those with photosensitivity like myself. Small, compact and easy to take with you. Cons: Because its an automatic umbrella, it can close when you arent expecting it if you touch the button while holding the handle. Secondly, if it does close unexpectedly, you must then reset the mechanism by pushing the canopy back into the handle before opening it again. This seems to be a design flaw with all umbrellas of this size with automatic function. That being the case, its a beautiful umbrella that give great coverage.

This is a sturdy umbrella and not that heavy but certainly not UV protected. It has a very light silver coating but the its totally see through so I cant imagine how I would be protected. Disappointed!

I purchased 2 of Glodeals Van Gogh Masterpiece Oil Painting Auto-open & mostly easy-enough to close parasol / umbrella. Both of them popped open forcefully, so, be careful that you dont stand too close to anyone when opening them, since they could be used unintentionally as a weapon! That aside, the artwork is quite nice. All I really cared about was making sure that it/they were strong enough to withstand wind (Ill be on any island); lightweight enough (Ill be using one or the other as a parasol), and...I hesitate to call it a parasol style-wise, though, it says it offers UV-protection, and, since it will provide shade, it technically blocks the sun, anyway. So long as it hold out (Im keeping one aside to use as an umbrella, when back on the mainland).
