I liked the fact that the plug provided the 3-pin options and they were up to 6 such outlets. That way, i can plug in my computer or other equipment that require 3- pins as opposed to the more readily but lucking 2-pin extension cables

i returned it for refund.

This is a a cheap and good extension as an alternative for lack of power points. Not sure about the surge protection though.
