> 24 hourWe used this hand vac daily for 3 years. Its a great little vacuum - really picks up dirt, dust and debris. But after 3 years, the battery is getting weak and it now runs only for a couple of minutes before being unusable. Its very easy to get to the battery pack: remove the vac barrel; remove two screws from the case: slip off the side cover; slip the battery out of the case; disconnect the quick disconnect; and, its ready for a replacement battery pack. Except that there are no replacement battery packs! The battery part number is 515LPFC, but B+D doesnt carry them, nor does Amazon nor any of the parts houses. The battery pack case can easily be opened to reveal a circuit board and 5 battery cells. But the battery cells are welded onto their connectors, so they cannot easily be removed, and they are completely covered by the case so that any identifying marks are hidden. It may be possible to break the welds on the batteries, but it will take more than a soldering iron to do so. Without any means to replace the failing battery, that means that the entire unit must be discarded. I give 5 stars for the vacuum, but only 1 star for the unavailability of replacement batteries, so that averages out to 3 stars.

> 24 hourWe were hoping that Black+Decker would come out with a Lithium-ion vacuum to replace the Ni-cad fold-able vacuum, which weve had two of and loved them. The only downside of the older version was battery life. This vacuum has more suction than the Ni-cad version. It feels smoother operating (folding, and emptying) than the older version The battery should hold up much better We are very pleased with this Vacuum! The only negative I have is why in the world would a great product ship with flat-head screws instead of Phillips screws!

> 24 hourI love this handheld based on the suction. That said, the attachments are built in and leave a little to be desired. I wish it had an attachment to use on fabric / to vacuum a sofa. BUT... the suction is still fantastic! Also it is super easy to clean and empty. Would recommend.

> 24 hourGreat suction. Holds charge. Good job on upholstery and everything Ive used it on. Just what I was looking for (and disappointed with in others). We dont have stairs, but I think it would be great for that as well. Plan to use in car also.

> 24 hourLittle hand held vacuum is so powerful; the lifetime of the product and battery life and charge are amazing. I had the previous model for 10+ years it didn’t brake my son dropped it and the collection bin cracked…it’s still working but glued it and use for my garage know. So,I got a new one for indoor. Overall the best. I did compare different ones before repurchase and none stand up to the suction power. Would love if they made a pet hair attachment for it!! If so none on the market could stand up to it.

> 24 hourThis is a great handvac. Powerful, easy to empty, compact & the pivoting head design is great! I also like that the attachments are actually attached to the nozzle. No loose crevice parts! So far so good!

> 24 hourI had one of the very old models of black & decker and the difference in suction is phenomenal. Only complaint I have is that I wish I came with a few attachments.

> 24 hourIm so disgusted with handheld vacs! I would have loved this one to have 2 levels of power but it is pretty strong on suction. The most frustration feature was trying to pull the Crevice tool out and the killing yourself getting it put back in place! I worked on it for over 45 mins and my husband took a look at it and figured it out, pulling front part of crevice tool out while pushing down on the end of it where the lines are. pretty hard to do but it is doable, even for a 76 yr old. like the compart size, sturdiness. Its better than the Shark I had...

> 24 hourWriting this May of 2022, bought mine on Sep 27, 2020, and other than emptying out the main container when it filled Id not properly cleaned it once or replaced the filter (in fact I came across the spare filter a few months back and not recognizing it am afraid I may have tossed it) .... Why yes even the most robust hand vacuums need to have their filters cleaned occasionally... Ive been using mine about a full year and Im not over stating it when I say I NEVER cleaned it, only reason I even thought to do it was because the contents of my paper shredder had spilled over and theres SO much dust in that that my brain kind of went, that must be tough on the filters ... Pulled it apart for the first time, the filters were completely full, and the space between the filter and plastic casing was completely full... and just a few minutes before it was STILL sucking bits of paper and stuff up off the floor. So I washed it... went after the filter (inside the folds and at top where the plastic overlaps it) with a shellfish fork, cleaning out bits of junk the water couldnt clear out (warning, do it over the garbage disposal or youll clog your sink) ... once that was all cleaned out, saw the clear plastic casing that has tiny holes in it, and about half of the holes were full of junk that were stuck in there blocking air flow. Took to it with a pin, pushing the bits out (they were all hard bits of I dont know what) and then rinsed the holes clean ... am still waiting for it to dry, but Im impressed. ALL that dirt was in there and it was STILL working... if it works flawlessly once the bits have had time to dry out Im going to hug it --- next day, it dried, and is once again working flawlessly

> 24 hourIt takes about 4 hours to charge. Based on other reviews, I timed how long the battery would last for the charge. Mine is consistent with others; it lasted 9 minutes and 30 seconds. I vacuumed half of my mid-size SUV, charged the vacuum, did the other half of my car the next day. Its not very productive to begin a chore and complete it the next day. It did a very nice job, though! I was able to get into some nooks that I didnt think was possible. I like the pivot feature, too. The interior of the car looks pretty darn good, and clean too! Using the vast capabilities of web searches, it is also a true statement that a replacement battery for this product cannot be located. This is good: the product guide has directions on how to safely remove the battery for disposal when it can no longer take a charge. This is awful, not environmentally friendly, and contrary to common sense: there is no replacement battery option at the time of this writing. I really like this product. It performs well for my needs. I hope B&D will have a battery option when mine decides to die.
