Blues Brothers

I remember seeing this many years ago and bought it partly for nostalgia and because it was so well produced and directed.

It is appropriate that the music supervisors and choreographers are credited first in this film. Surely they did the most work, and it shows. This film is by far one of if not the very best comedy-musical I have ever seen. Loaded with laughs as well as some very excellent musical numbers and a climactic car chase too good to miss, this film is a comedy gem from director John Landis and stars Dan Akroyd and John Belushi. There are several laugh-out-loud moments as well as get-up-and-dance tunes. Its so fun, so energized, and so hip that disliking this movie is impossible! This would make a great family movie if it werent for the frequent language. When the Blues Brothers finally get to their concert and start to sing Everybody Needs Somebody to Love, I was clapping and cheering. Never has a film excited me and made me feel as good as The Blues Brothers. Its a surefire hit and definite classic!

This movie has great acting work done by Dan Arkyrod and John Belushi. This movie is still great even compared to todays movies.

Forse é colpa di Amazon che mischia i commenti di diverse edizioni dei film,forse é la distrazione o la superficialità degli acquirenti ,ma mi piange il cuore leggere dei commenti negativi su questa magnifica edizione LUNGA di questo splendido film. Le parti aggiunte non sono state,fortunatamente, RIDOPPIATE, ma solo sottotitolate,data la non disponibilità dei doppiatori originali. Quando escono dvd con parti aggiunte rispetto alluscita originaria,purtroppo vengono ridoppiate con voci che nulla hanno in comune con i doppiatori dellepoca! Guardatevi Luomo che uccise Liberty Valance o Lawrence dArabia (titoli che nomino a caso ,ma lelenco sarebbe infinito), dove le voci delle parti aggiunte sembrano quelle di un call center. Pertanto,invece di lamentarsi, i fortunati acquirenti potrebbero ringraziare la loro fortuna di possedere ledizione lunga.

Definitely an amazing classic!

The first, and easily one of the best, adaptations of an SNL skit into full-length feature, The Blues Brothers delivers on what it promises -- comedy, mayhem, lovable characters (main and supporting), and a healthy dose of impossibly good blues music from impossibly good blues musicians. Clearly a pet project from the boys, their love of the blues permeates the film, as does their brotherly devotion to each other.
