Blues Brothers

Worth watching for the comic timing. Its great to see direction that allows a scene to take shape. Most shots are held for 2-3 seconds longer than they would be today. Its also good to see a movie where none of the comic bits depend Zach Galifianakis/ Seth Rogen style humor.

Remember Beta and Laser disk - the Blues Brothers should be one of the available titles that would come to mind when thinking of the start of home movies.

It is appropriate that the music supervisors and choreographers are credited first in this film. Surely they did the most work, and it shows. This film is by far one of if not the very best comedy-musical I have ever seen. Loaded with laughs as well as some very excellent musical numbers and a climactic car chase too good to miss, this film is a comedy gem from director John Landis and stars Dan Akroyd and John Belushi. There are several laugh-out-loud moments as well as get-up-and-dance tunes. Its so fun, so energized, and so hip that disliking this movie is impossible! This would make a great family movie if it werent for the frequent language. When the Blues Brothers finally get to their concert and start to sing Everybody Needs Somebody to Love, I was clapping and cheering. Never has a film excited me and made me feel as good as The Blues Brothers. Its a surefire hit and definite classic!

Classic film. Whilst bluray does reveal the age of the film, its a pretty good transfer and the picture is much better than the standard DVD.

Bought this to replace the version I had on DVD

A must for any video collection! Destined to be a classic is it isnt already.

Für Fans der Hammer. Mit tollen Zusatzinfos und auch im Film sind zusätzliche Szenen, die man aus dem Original nicht kennt. Das Geld wert!

Life changing

We bought this when our video of the same finally became unplayable. It is wonderful to see the film in clear pictures and with the full sound - and theres a few extra bits in this version.
