> 3 dayThis particular compressor is replacing a Central Pneumocystic* pancake unit that I bought cheap from Chinese Cargo*, which was really only good for inflating bicycle tires sometimes. Not only is the CAT4710SQ nearly silent compared to that thing, it delivers the goods as far as pressure and volume go. I am now happy that I also bought an upgraded air hose (a Giraffe 3/8 hybrid) instead of another craptastic pre-coiled job. It is not lightweight, though. If not purchased through Amazon Prime, the shipping cost would be as much as the compressor itself. I could wish that there was an add-on available for purchase that would allow for a set of wheels to be mounted. Overall, I am very pleased with this unit. Not quite sure what thickness has to do with an air compressor, but I gave it 5 stars for whatever that may be. *not the real name

> 3 dayIts not dead silent, but its so much quieter than conventional air compressors! For its price point its a killer purchase, even though it doesnt have a massive tank of air, its powerful and quiet enough that air pressure has never been an issue for me.

> 3 dayCompact and quiet for indoor production use. Have it located under a workbench out of the way. Performs exactly as advertised. Very pleased.

> 3 dayProbably my favorite purchase in the past year or so. I watched comparison videos between these and standard compressors and was worried it would still be too loud. These are insanely more quiet than a standard compressor, the comparison videos do not do them any justice. With how quiet this unit is, I have to wonder how much better the ultra quiet models are, as this is just quiet. That said, I went into this knowing a bit more than the product page mentioned. If you look through all the reviews you may find some that question whether or not they got a used one. These are new, but if you look at California Air Tools page that sells them you will see something left out of the product page here. It mentions there may be paint issues and I believe it also mentions slight corrosion on the fittings. Mine arrived with very slight paint discoloration in some areas and the zinc fittings with some corrosion, no corrosion on the brass. While I didnt see any reason for this listed, I have a feeling these have been stored for a period of time in a warehouse that was not climate controlled. I didnt have any issues with leaks like some have mentioned. I did end up taking off the quick release and adding a 90 degree elbow and a ball valve so I could push quick connects down into place instead of pushing them in from the side. Ball valve was added so I could shut off the air before the quick connect so I can leave my hoses/tools hooked up without air leaking out from them just by turning the valve. My rating may have been lower had I not known about the paint/corrosion issues before hand. But I knew and in my humble opinion its well worth the low cost its at.

> 3 dayVery quiet compared to the usual cheap, small compressors, with a lot more capacity. Youre not going to run a die grinder all day, but it pumps up car tires very quickly and will power small tools.

> 3 dayI had a pancake model...I think 4 gallon. It would power on and make me jump. While running it would rotate in a cirxle wrapping up the cord. The it finally stopped building pressure and I had to replace it. I turned this one on and thought it was in some typr of pre-operating mode and waited for it to the kick in. It didnt because that is how quiet this actually was. It didnt vibrate in a circle either. Pressure built up nice and really impressed with this. I got this because of the lifespan and quietness while still having power.
