> 3 dayThis thing is great. I also have a 60gal belt drive oiled compressor in my shop. This thing is quieter than the 60gal. So far it has had no issues, I dont see any reason to have any. Its easy to tote upstairs. I got this mostly for nail guns. I used to fill a 5 gallon tank and use that in the house for my nailers. When the nails stopped sinking deep enough, I had to refill. I should have bought one of these years ago. Im happier I got this higher flow model over the single stage ones, supposedly they are quieter. This thing is quiet enough to use in a small room and not worry about bothering other rooms. The nailers are way louder.

> 3 dayMy last compressor required a sound proof box. Of course there was a heat issue! This new baby is extremely quiet and no box! Best choice I have made! Hands down the quietest machine in the shop.

Greater than one weekYou can probably find cheaper compressors but this unit is so quiet and the recovery time is great. It is not too light but you don’t want to compromise just to save a few pounds. This is the second compressor I’ve purchased from California Compressor.

Greater than one weekFor many years Ive owned pancake compressors, after 5 years of good service my HF 150psi compressor quit. After a little digging around on Amazon I discovered quiet compressors and finally locked onto this one. Its amazing! So very quiet and cycles on for just 30 seconds when refilling. My old compressor was so loud it would sometimes startle me. Theres no way this CAT-4710SQ will ever do that. It is about 5lbs heavier than the old HF but is narrower and more comfortable to carry. I kind of wished it would pump up to 150psi but its so quiet it really doesnt matter. At $128 This model is far less expensive than others and has a single larger 4.7gal tank which I like better. The only way it could be better is if were aluminum, which they have, but theyre a little too expensive for the difference. This a really great on-the-go air compressor.

> 3 dayQuiet as compressor go; leak-free. Good warranty. Top shroud to air filter interference - had to enlarge the slot slightly.

Greater than one weekThe noise level really is quite nice. I’m not speaking scientifically, but the noise of the compressor itself pales in comparison to using a small attachment for cleaning out crevices. In other words, blasting dust out of a car seat cushion or door jamb *feels* about 4 times as loud as the noise of the compressor recharging its pressure. I also like being able to adjust the output pressure down to basically 0 psi. On the downside: The recharge span is factory locked to 30psi. This means you can have the compressor kick on at 90psi and stop at 120psi, or kick on at, say, 40psi and stop at 70psi, but you can’t drain the tank all the way down to 10psi and have it charge all the way back to 120psi. I would’ve liked to use something like the latter to slowly bubble some air through a bucket of compost tea without the compressor kicking in every hour. A bit of labeling stickers would be nice too; the manual is fairly complicated.

> 3 dayOverall the compressor is great. Quiet and well designed. However the one I received had some assembly issues. Three out of the four motor to frame mounting nuts were loose. I wouldnt have noticed them but when I was initially running it for the first time one of the nuts completely fell off. The handle set screws were loose. Also the air filter housing was bent into an oval making it difficult to access the filter. Again good compressor but some quality control issues that need to be addressed.
