> 3 dayDefinitely a quiet compressor vs similar pancake kinds. I’m amazed. I leave mine on all the time because when it turns on, the noise is more of a slight nuisance than something I can’t even think when louder compressors kick on.

Greater than one weekFor many years Ive owned pancake compressors, after 5 years of good service my HF 150psi compressor quit. After a little digging around on Amazon I discovered quiet compressors and finally locked onto this one. Its amazing! So very quiet and cycles on for just 30 seconds when refilling. My old compressor was so loud it would sometimes startle me. Theres no way this CAT-4710SQ will ever do that. It is about 5lbs heavier than the old HF but is narrower and more comfortable to carry. I kind of wished it would pump up to 150psi but its so quiet it really doesnt matter. At $128 This model is far less expensive than others and has a single larger 4.7gal tank which I like better. The only way it could be better is if were aluminum, which they have, but theyre a little too expensive for the difference. This a really great on-the-go air compressor.

Greater than one weekAbsolutely loved it. Right out of the box it was perfect not a single thing to complain about. I would never need a quieter aircompressor ever. Its everything I could want and more. 120 lbs of pressure with tank gauge and adjustable pressure valve with second pressure gauge. I have it set to 90 psi and tank is at 120 compressor comes on at 90 psi turns off at 120 and mamaintains 90. I love it.

> 3 dayA beautiful retro look and ridiculously quiet. I have no idea how long this will last. As others have noted I doubt this thing ought to be transported. So for the pros. This is the quietest compressor I have ever heard. It is a beautiful gray retro luck and a lot of the workings of this visible. So for the cons. This is not the lightest compressor. A lot of the functionality of this is visible so therefore I do not think this would last being thrown in and out of a truck on a daily basis

> 3 dayThe noise level really is quite nice. I’m not speaking scientifically, but the noise of the compressor itself pales in comparison to using a small attachment for cleaning out crevices. In other words, blasting dust out of a car seat cushion or door jamb *feels* about 4 times as loud as the noise of the compressor recharging its pressure. I also like being able to adjust the output pressure down to basically 0 psi. On the downside: The recharge span is factory locked to 30psi. This means you can have the compressor kick on at 90psi and stop at 120psi, or kick on at, say, 40psi and stop at 70psi, but you can’t drain the tank all the way down to 10psi and have it charge all the way back to 120psi. I would’ve liked to use something like the latter to slowly bubble some air through a bucket of compost tea without the compressor kicking in every hour. A bit of labeling stickers would be nice too; the manual is fairly complicated.

> 3 dayBought compressor 4 month ago and have used it about 15 times. Very quiet as advertised. Has as much power as I need. So far, absolutely no problems. I did add the wheels just to make it a bit easier on me to move about.

05-06-2025This thing is damn quiet! Ive never had a compressor that you could have a conversation while standing next to it, much less one that actually flows a decent amount of air. It has replaced my 6 gallon pancake compressor completely.

05-06-2025Quality feels incredible, and is a lot quieter then I was expecting. After turning it on in my living room with the rest of the family opening presents for Christmas, we were all floored how low the noise level was. I hope to edit this review with longevity details as I start using it. ******* update ******** I’ve had my California Air Tool compressor for 3/4 of a year now. My 2020 spring and summer (quarantine) were full of projects. This compressor has been smooth running the whole time. Neighbors and family have all asked to borrow it because of how quiet it is. None of the projects were slowed because the compressor took to long to recharge. So far I’ve used micronpin nailers, Staplers, and 18g Brad nailers. I’m hoping to do my roof and shed next summer, and I’ll need to update again.
