Quality control is not good. Theres a lot of symmetry issues with this bag. There are parts of it that are bigger on one side when compared to the exact same part on the other side. But, its a backpack. It probably costs them $5 to build it but it has the Carhartt logo on it so you pay the price. The materials feel cheap especially the shoulder pads and straps. But, the stitching is good.

Carhartt tuff. Not too big, not to small. Great material on the bottom of the bag that is gunk resistant when you set it down. The laptop carrier nice as well. Just enough pockets but not too many. Love the Carhartt classic color. Looks real good in an F150. Pairs well with a Busch Light.

Love this backpack!! I’m about to buy these for my kids for school now too! My kids are tough on backpacks, and typically even when I buy nice ones, they won’t make it through the school year. I bought this for me for work, but I’m pretty sure it would hold up to my hellions too! It’s tough, thick, and puts up with a lot of beatings and my laptop looks untouched. I would definitely buy it again!

Ive not really tested the water resistance of it because weve not been in the rain, but it gets muddy when my fiances used it & none of the moisture from the mud has seeped in. Its alot bigger then you would think, like depth wise. It can hold alot more then I originally thought it would! Its very sturdy & made well

Fantastic, heavy duty and well built. The straps are well padded and distribute the weight of a heavy bag well. I fit 3 books, a binder, notebook, lap top, pencil bag, charger, and headphones in. There was still plenty of room for my wallet, keys, a lunch bag and another large book. Room for water bottles on the side pockets. Last semester the weight of my books killed my shoulders and the straps eventually started tearing. With a similar load this semester, my shoulders barely notice the weight. The zippers are heavy duty, it’s well constructed and I’m counting on this backpack to last. Another bonus is that it’s not enormous on my back. I wouldn’t call it “minimalist” but it’s also not bulky or tacky.

Rugged. I find that it carries my computer (15 inch Dell), paper files, field books, phones, warm extra clothes, tupperwared food, etc. for my workday. Vey comfortable to wear. I have to walk from a parking lot to my job trailer (1 mile) and this pack carries every thing I need for the day. Being in construction it is stylish too. Echoing other reviews it would be better if the outer zipped pockets had two zippers. The water proof bottom is a great feature and if you pack it right with a bulky item in the bottom it will stand upright when you set it down and not flop over. The side mesh pockets are big enough to hold a 30 oz Atlin mug and on the the other side a safety glass case and folding umbrella. I do believe it would make a good day pack for bushwhacking in the wild on your days off.
