> 3 dayI bought a Chris Christensen Buttercomb 000 in 2018, on the recommendation of my groomer. I love that comb. Seriously, I hear angels sing as it glides through my double coated corgis and Aussie’s fur. Nothing better for painlessly removing loose and blowing undercoat. I love this comb so much, I bought myself a second one. Sigh. The new one has sharp corners on the ends of the comb spine (see photo of new and old comb). The pointed corners hurt my palm when I’m using it. Since I comb three dogs about 30 minutes each at least twice a week, this is a problem for me. I reached out to the manufacturer via email, (with this photo and explaining that they were the same part number with the same markings, both purchased from their authorized distributors). The reply I got was that their plating process has changed. It seems that a “grind the pointy bit off before plating” step was somehow removed from their process. And yeah, for $30 I don’t think my dog comb should dig into my palm. So now, I have to buy a snap on handle and increase my $30 investment by another $20 if I want to be able to use this comb without discomfort. I’m disappointed by this change, to say the least. If you happen upon these combs at a dog show or event, see if you can find yourself an older style. If you get stuck with one of these, go ahead and buy their $20 handle.

Greater than one weekThrough the years, have bought several brands. At the time I thought they were good combs. That was until I bought this comb. The finish is the huge difference, or so I think. Comb glides through coats and even very thick coats so easily. Even if you don’t groom your dogs - you still have to maintain their coats.

> 3 dayI use this comb on my small silky long haired dogs. This comb glides through the coat and tangles. It is pricey but makes the grooming more pleasant for the dogs and myself.

> 3 dayI love this to groom my 3 Ragdoll cats….not sure they’re as thrilled as I am, though! It does a great job, but I still find it very expensive for the average cat owner. I do recommend it as a great grooming tool, but difficult to justify the price.

> 3 dayWe take our cats to a cat-only groomer twice a year (you read that correctly) and she recommended this comb to us. We have two DSH rescues with different coat textures, but this comb works magic on both. Apparently it feels great, because both of our boys glue themselves to my leg when I pull it out of the drawer. It gets a decent amount of hair up from one of our boys, but hardly any from the other. Either way, they both look sleeker after a quick comb through.

> 3 dayI have three combs by Chris Christensen. Its expensive, but well worth it and durable. It has a nice weight to it. This buttercomb I use first to comb out larger tangles in my Shih Tzus fur. Then I use 006 buttercomb to get the smaller tangles and his face. And finally, I use the tail buttercomb to do his topknot. All are great quality by Chris Christensen.

> 3 dayI now have the longest tine length brush as well as the large pin slicker (coral) and recently got this comb. Its perfect for what I needed, occassional grooming of tough spots my standard poodle gets on occassion, usually on his neck. He doesnt mind me using any of the brushes or comb on him and I find the wide spaced teeth on one end of this comb to be extremely good for the small knots he sometimes gets when his coat is being kept long for winter.

> 3 dayThis comb looks nearly identical to my other combs, but its not. Its fantastic! It works much, much better. Have a 3 yr old long haired Samoyed dog who grows giants mats on her head every night. Its always even a long unpleasant battle to remove the mats. But not now. The Chris Christensen comb gets through the fur & breaks up the mats very quickly. I highly recommend.
