> 24 hourThis is my first mechanical keyboard ever and I gotta say Im enjoying the feel of it. The keyboard is a lot heavier than I thought it would be, feels solid. And the switches feel smooth (because theyre linear red switches) when pressed. Most likely not the best swithes out there but for a newbie like me I like them. And since the keyboard is hot-swappable, I can upgrade the switches to any mx style switch I want. Oh and its got like 14 rgb modes which Im really love. One minor problem I had was that one of the switches had a bent pin and wasnt registering inputs, so I straightened it out and it works fine now. Overall, I would recommend it.

> 24 hourAs always CIY delivers a great package in a cheap price. The removable shroud gives you a lot of options for say hydro dipping or spray painting for customization for a fully decked out build. 5 pin hot swap, decent RGB, decent build quality. With some mods it really came to life. I put contact zip and fit perforated shelf liner in the case, three layers masking tape on the PCB, two layers PE foam between the plate and the PCB, lubed and clipped the stabilizers and its like a completely different keyboard worth twice as much.

> 24 hourPurchased this in white with red switches for $45. Even if not for the budget price, this keyboard is solid. Listing all the features: - Fully hotswappable: I had problems with my Durock Dolphins fitting into many hotswappable boards (possibly thicker or longer pins on these) but this board had zero problems - Great stabilizers: no tick, no need to mod. Best stock stabilizers of all my prebuilt keyboards (akko and epomaker brands) - Stock switches: really arent that bad. They are scratchy but about as much as the trusty Gat Yellows. I wouldnt have minded using these stock if I didnt have other plans for the board (silent). One complaint about these switches though is how thick the stems are--much harder to pull off non-stock keycaps (no problems with the stock keycaps though) - Keycaps: Very thin and kinda rubbery sounding, but great for the RGB. I did replace them because I dont like OEM but honestly not all that bad. - Cover/skirt(?): Easy to pull off and on, without fear of accidentally breaking. Feels sturdy. - RGB: Pretty and bright! (I really have no complaints. Would love to see a 68-key version and a bluetooth version at this pricepoint from CIY.)

> 24 hourThis is a nice, compact mechanical keyboard. It’s 87 keys, so it won’t become my daily driver anytime soon, but its great for certain settings. The keyboard uses a wired, detachable USB-C cable, which should be the standard for all keyboards going forward. It makes swapping keyboards or dealing with a damaged cable much easier. Build quality is excellent. The body is plastic, but it has a great weight to it. The flip-down feet also feel sturdy, and the keyboard should travel well in luggage. The keyboard has a really nice feel on the hands, as well. This version comes with Cherry Black keys, so it’s not nearly as clacky as the model with the Blue keys. I recommend that you choose your version based on the proximity and tolerance of your housemate(s). The real treat here, though, is the color. The lighted keys are exceptionally bright, and outshine both the Logitech G810 and the Razer Huntsman Elite, both of which have beautiful lights in their own right. The lights are easy to set in any of 14 different lighting modes, as well as solid colors. The only negatives I found were that the instructions were just a bit confusing (the translations aren’t great, but the functions were pretty obvious from the illustrations), and the rubber feet on the bottom didn’t have quite enough grip on a wooden desk. Nevertheless, performance and build quality are surprisingly good for a brand Id never heard of.

> 24 hourGreat keyboard if youre looking to mod a TKL, design is nice and the inside gives decent room for stuffing. stuffed mine with cabinet liners you find at walmart, and it seemed todo the job nicely. AKKO Matcha green switches were added and it THOCCS. for the price range this this is a steal. no serious issues so far. PROS: good price, good mod capabilities, sturdy and well built with some type of enthusiast in mind, really budget friendly (coming from someone who never spends more than 70$ on a keyboard) my 4th keyboard ive been able to mod and it has been one of my favorite keebs to this date CONS: lets talk about the bad, Stabilizers, above i mentioned it was builder friendly , but these stabilizers were pre lubed, really heavy and mushy, (ESPECIALLY the space bar) took my multiple tries to get these stabs to not feel really heavy even with unlubed stock reds it came with, adding a decent amount of dielectric grease to stabs made it wayy too mushy so i would recommend replacing them, if you do plan on keeping them then maybe 205g0 lube (lightly lube the stab until you get a good feel ) or lightly apply dielectric grease.(this method is more of a swing and miss, took me a couple tries to feel satisfied with how the stabilizers felt with grease. sometimes was too heavy so i would have to remove them and clean them and reapply the grease) 2. another thing was the closing part of the case, everything went smooth but the wire inside the pcb had to be bent and kept a certain way or the pcb would not close withthe case, make sure you keep an eye on it as it will get caught on the rivets of the case and not fully close, squish down to a C shape under the usb-c dongle and you should be ok 3. the cable, the nose is extra long because the case protrudes a bit from the usb dongle and blocks any other cables from being used other than the original because the other cables are too short. which is an issue for those wanting aviator cables or custom cables , make sure to find the right size first before purchasing custom cables, trust me youll thank me later, the one from my previous keyboard didnt fit this one due to the case issue stated above,

> 24 hourCIY has produced this fantastic keyboard with the consumer in mind. I optimize my keyboard in intense gaming and streaming but also use it for general office work. Software is easy and if you arent interested in, on board RGB controls are easy! The magnetic detachable cover is also a great addition. Overall, awesome switches, great sound, and great quality.

> 24 hourBought two of them. This keyboard is an excellent choice for them who wants to mess with mechanical keyboards upgrades but dont want waste money. This keyboard has removable covering frame. It fixed with magnets strong enough to not go out when you pull the keyboard up. Without the frame the keyboard looks just like common gaming KB and switches are easy reachable. Stock switches are cheap but work good enough to try linear or clicky variants. It has a proper position of 1st row keys (Fn, win, menu). The picture shows the keyboard after keycaps upgrade.

> 24 hourSummary: This keyboard is a great entry board for those looking to do a custom keyboard. It has a solid build, nice metal like frame, and the stabilizers are surprisingly good. I didnt need to clip the feet of the stabilizers as they already came flat and precut it seems. Not sure if intentional or not, but it saves time and makes for a better sound signature. Only real 3 downsides are that it doesnt get very bright, the whites LEDs are off and have a purple hue and the USB-C port is deeper than ideal and could make it hard to use custom cables. But for the price, you get solid build quality, usable RGB, great stock stabilizers and the option to customize this board with your preferred switches and or mods. PROS & CONS: PROS: - Good Build Quality Overall - Metal Magnetic Faceplate - Software is available - USB-C - Has 2 different height adjustments - Stock stabilizers feel great for the price - Price CONS: - Deep USB C Port (Your mileage may vary) could make it hard to use with custom cables. - RGB Lights dont get very bright. - White LEDs are ugly and have a purple tint to them - Stock Keycaps arent the greatest - Stock cable isnt very long and not practical in a setup use. - When playing popular titles like Halo Infinite, COD Vanguard, Warzone, and OW, the sticky keys prompt comes up when hitting your shift key a lot. Not sure why this occurs more often on this keyboard than the other 5 I have... Could be a me thing so take this con with a grain of salt. This may not happen to you. The stock Switches: Theyre alright. I wouldnt say great or terrible. Theyre meh. I got the brown switches and theyre no Gatereon switches. They are hard to take apart with your typical key switch take apart tool and Id honestly recommend getting your own. However, if you want to use this keyboard out the box, theyre totally usable. The stock Keycaps: This is really a matter of preference. To me, they felt thin, cheap and the white tint on them was more on the warmer/yellow side. The designs on them and character choices are better than most stock keyboards in this price range but Id still recommend purchasing some custom keycaps. RGB: It works and its decent looking. Not very bright at 100% and not many effects. There is a software you can download and install, and while it does give you a bit more customization options, it still lacks RGB options youd see in other keyboards around this price. NOTE - perhaps the one I purchased is a lemon. I noticed when I select colors on the software, it makes the keys extremely bright for half a second and then goes back to the default brightness. Not sure why. Features: You have the option to create macros and they work just fine. The software allows for this but its a bit tedious at the moment. But most people probably wont care. Depends on who you are. Aside from this, the only other feature I could see, is that it has 3 red RGB indicators on the right side of the board letting you know when the CAPS key is on, the SCRLK key is on, and the Windows Key is on. Aside from this nothing else is really present. My personal experience with this board has been positive. I am very picky with how I like my boards so the only downside to this board may not be a huge deal for you and even though I have these small gripes, I am willing to ignore them (mostly) and keep the board for its aesthetics and build quality. Because of the white tint on the LEDS when using white and the brightness being too low for my liking, I am giving this keyboard 4 stars. However, from a function standpoint its a 5. Really depends on your preferences and needs. In the pictures above, I chose to use pudding white keycaps and chose to install my own Gateron brown switches that I lubed. I added foam, did the medical tape mod and lubed all the stabilizers. In order to use my custom cable, I had to strip some of the plastic off. Wasnt ideal, but I was willing to do so for this keyboard. Thanks for reading! Happy typing!

> 24 hourWithout doing any modifications (other than changing the keycaps), this keyboard types like a dream. The switches are so buttery and sound wonderful. It was easy to switch the keycaps, which is great because I love being able to switch my caps every month so I dont get bored (and taking them off each month lets me clean any dust that might get in as well). I dont really use the rainbow lights as I type, but they do look nice and bright. I know Ill be buying my daughters this keyboard because of how lovely it types and how nice the lighting is when they get old enough to have their own computers. Ive already recommended this keyboard to my own Mother, and Ill recommend it to everybody that asks. Ive been using it for a little over a month and Im still in love with it.
