I bought this to try to take the place of a Timbuk2 Custom Commute bag I had built maybe a decade ago. I sold that bag off when I went to a smaller laptop, just bought a larger one and really wish I had my old custom bag back. Id pay full custom price for the old one, even used.

Not only is this bag stylish, but it is functional! It fits my gym clothes, books, and also a laptop.

Mu wife loves this new bag. I have a Timbuk2 bag I bought 10 years ago and use it every day, travel with it and fill it full. It still looks brand new. This bag is even better made with a great pocket layout. There are extra mesh pockets inside for water bottles and coffee mugs. and it is the perfect size for the office or for a carry on for the plane to place under the seat in front of you. I am now a hero in my wifes eyes for finding this bag..

Ive been on the hunt for my ideal messenger bag for a while, and finally found it with this bag. Things I were looking for in a bag were: 1. padded laptop compartment (this was a must for me, and many bags including the timbuk2 classic dont come with), 2. removable strap (inevitably this is where most messenger bags fail over time, and Ive owned many bags where the strap just isnt easily replaced), 3. a functional top handle. Many messengers have this, but Ive found that in many of them lifting by the handle just dumps open the bag, 4. off of that, snap closures. There is also velcro, but the bag comes with silencers, which is nice for a work setting where nobody wants to hear me opening my bag. 5. fits all my stuff easily without looking stuffed to the brim. My daily carry with this bag is a laptop, ipad, a couple pens, water bottle, my lunch bag (containing a tupper ware container, utensil case, and a snack), and sometimes a zip up sweater for when the office gets cold. These all fit with some room to spare in the medium sized bag.

I take a lot of stuff to work and it all fits in this bag.I do wish the strap was a bit narrower and the padded strap thingie less bulky.I really like the interior pockets, which I need to keep me organized. The small outer pocket (fleece-lined) tits both of my phones or my work ID on a kinda bulky lanyard.

Have you using the Timbuk2 Commute 2.0 Messager Bag for about one month. It takes a little while to get everything adjusted to personal preferences but once you do it is really easy to put over your shoulder and adjust even with glasses on. Having the strap shorter, allows you to just hand the bag from one shoulder without hanging on to it.

Nicely constructed bag, it does have many pockets however the majority of them are open, it would be incredible to have two more small zippered pockets. the front phone pocket is a bit too small for a full sized smartphone (6S), well it fits but you cannot zip it closed.
