> 3 dayBought this for my sister, after reading the previous reviews I knew I had to get it. My nephew is diagnosed with Prader Willi Syndrome we’ve tried dozens upon dozens of locks and none of them where able to keep him out. It’s been about a month since I bought these and he has not been able to get into the fridge. The locks are still holding up. He’s pulled and tugged and it will not budge. I’m absolutely thankful for these locks.

> 3 dayIt feels so odd to lock food away from your child, but I was getting up in the morning and finding evidence that he was eating LOTS of sugar, etc in the night. (literally pouring milk and sugar in a glass to drink, so no, I cant just keep sugary treats out of the house) Pro tip - I first brought in a dorm refrigerator and labeled it for him. I told him that he could eat anything in that fridge at any time, and then only put in vegetables. :) On days when he is home for lunch, I also put a grain and protein item in there and he can eat it at any time he chooses. (a sandwich, a piece of pizza, a serving of a leftover). By doing this, the new refrigerator feels special to him and the locking up of the rest of the food a few weeks later was not so much of a punishment. I was also not going to deny a hungry person food, but made his free choice food that which has fewer calories. He does eat veggies well, so its not as though I gave him a choice of something he cant tolerate. He has a genetic deletion (16p11.2 micro-deletion) which predisposes him to obesity, but I am not going down without a fight. Hes lost six pounds in a month and is now merely overweight, instead of pushing the obese mark on the BMI charts. I highly recommend this to anyone dealing with an individual with a special need who just doesnt understand the relationship between food intake and weight gain/health.

> 3 dayI have tried about 6 different fridge child locks that my kids have figured out how to open or break. Finally, I got tired of bringing home fruits and yogurts just to have the entire carton devoured in one afternoon by my 3, 4, and 7 year old. They are like little ninjas: super sneaky and stealthy. They just grab and go before I know it. This lock is great! As soon as it arrived I slapped it on the fridge- super quick no measuring, no reading directions, and after a month it is still holding strong. The first two days the kids tried to yank open the door repeatedly in hopes it would snap like other locks we purchased with no luck. The two pieces allow for some bending and the lock comes with two keys. Not only has this allowed me to trim about $200 off my monthly grocery bill it actually makes my husband and I think twice before reaching for a snack! Often I have found myself thinking I have to unlock this thing? (Sigh) Ill just have some water Edit: for anyone wondering about durability we recently upgraded to a new fridge and this bad boy was still stuck tight after almost 4 years. It is now living in the land of forgotten appliances along with the fridge as we probably would have had to crowbar it off if!

> 3 dayI bought this a few years ago to keep my autistic son out of the fridge. Its still holding strong but we just bought a stand alone freezer and now I need another, its sitting in my cart until I can buy it on payday. Im still a little worried about how Im getting it off our rental fridge, but Ill figure that out when its time to move. I hope some prying and goo gone will work, if it doesnt they can charge me for it as this has easily saved the cost of the extra charge, or they can keep it on there and let the next family have it. Follow the directions! Clean surface with alcohol, apply adhesive pad by itself and apply pressure for a good minute on each pad before adding arms and lock. Update more than a year after my second purchase: my son is now 15 and this has held strong for 4 years now. I put the second one on backwards and it still works though the bar doesnt stay in place as well when going opening and closing my freezer, but that is my error and not a product problem. Like I said before, follow the directions and itll work fine.

23-04-2025we tried many times to set a code or just close the lock while on the factory set numbers and nothing worked.. so the padlock is useless and we already put the adhesive parts on the fridge. i’ve bought this in the past and i know it works better than any other stick on fridge locks i’ve purchased, so i’m disappointed in the combination lock.

> 3 dayIve had these in the past 5 years ago and they worked great. They are very strong. I use these to keep my kids out of the fridge and freezer otherwise they sneak food out of the fridge and when I go to use it to make dinner its gone. I have a side by side and it works fine. When I had these in the past I had a top and bottom so I needed two. It was a rental house. So when we moved out I had to pry those suckers off. So if someone tries to take them off its going too be some work. Our fridge is smooth so they stuck well. I also cleaned the area with rubbing alcohol before I put them on. So make sure you clean the area. Use soap and water first wipe dry then do the rubbing alcohol. If you dont clean the area they may not stick well. I got the black because our fridge is black. Before I used white on our white fridge.
