Coolibar UPF 50+ 48 Inch Calotta Fashion Umbrella - Sun Protective (One Size- Silver/Green)

Just from the box, the open/ close button and/ or bottom spring was loose and broke away. So, the umbrella cannot keep closed by itself. This is very uncomfortable and annoying, specially when we are talking about a US$50+ umbrella. The worst thing is that I have to return this item to get my money back. Since I live outside the USA, returning this umbrella costs me much more than the item itself. This is so unfair.

Used this visiting Florida in July. It was hot, humid and very bright. I’m extremely fair skinned and hate intense sun- used this visiting Kennedy Space Center and I was definitely cooler and more comfortable than everyone else

I bought this SIX years ago and thought it was about time to leave a good review for my trusty umbrella! This is a fantastic personal size umbrella and has served me well through wind, rain, snow and sun. I bought this size instead of the travel size because I read that this one was far more wind-resistant. I would love the ability to make this more compact because it is pretty annoying to take on planes, but Im not deducting a star because I knew of the dimensions before I bought it. Be careful with the pointy end because it is quite pointy. I agree with another reviewer that the umbrella should be fastened with the velcro straps once its closed to prevent inadvertent reopening. I bought this primarily for sun protection and I feel well-shaded and cooler under this.

My mom was right! This really helps keep you cooler from the heat of the desert sun. Its not too heavy, and has a good handle to hang over your arm when you need to collapse it and have your hands free.

I bought this umbrella because of the good reputation it had. My friends have them, and they have stood up for 7 years. Mine is just over 1 year old, and the sun repellant layer already started peeling off. (See photos). Coolibar won’t do anything to resolve it, since it was purchased through Amazon. I’d urge potential buyers to think carefully before spending this amount on an umbrella, without knowing if the manufacturer and vender will be willing to resolve any problems that might occur.

Since I bought this umbrella several of my friends liked it so much that they bought one too. My wife lost hers and promptly bought another. It not only blocks the sin rays but provides a cool breeze when held at the right angle. Usually toward the direction of the sun

Reflects the sun away and it is very shaded underneath. It is so much cooler and darker than using a regular umbrella. The umbrella is very well made, opens easily with a press of a button snd closes with an easy pull down. I am more than satisfied with the Coolibar umbrella!
