Love, love, love this sunbrella. Its not only a very effective sun barrier, but also a great rain umbrella, too. It held up fine in a surprise downpour recently. Highly recommended.

From the effectively ergonomic handle to the smooth auto-release to the heft of the material, this umbrella is well worth the cost.

The plastic part that prevents the umbrella from opening on its own was broken out of the box.

FABULOUS UMBRELLA. I live in Nevada where the sun shines like magnified HUGE kleiglights (the huge ones used for premieres or grand openings)!! I open and use this umbrella from the moment I exit my apt house to my car, and then open it again after leaving my car to go anywhere else. I absolutely cannot be without it. I had a sunstroke and was sick for several weeks when I was in my teens so I am highly allergic to the sun. In addition, I am allergic to many sunscreens so that I have to rely on my floppy hat, my wonderful sun sleeves (purchased through Amazon) and again, my umbrella. GREAT/FANTASTIC ITEM TO PURCHASE IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO THE SUN.

I play 2-3 rounds per week under California sun and definitely need protection from it. This is very well made, keep me cool and most of all I like the size-not too bulky-and light-weight. Only problem so far is, the plastic tips got loose and I have to put them back in every time unfolding it. Its been used 2 weeks and I dont know how many more will loose. Maybe simple glue will take care of the issue. Ill call the seller to see if its o.k.

But for the repeated breakage of the open/close mechanism, Id give this umbrella a 5+ star rating. I used my first umbrella for about 2 weeks - sun only, no rain or high winds - when the open/closure mechanism broke. Returned it for a replacement. This second umbrellas mechanism broke even quicker. I know how to properly use an umbrella, so its not operator error! Very disappointed.

The DC summers are brutal for those of us in business suits. I am single handedly going to start a trend among businessmen: the parasol. This thing works. It is immediately more comfortable when you open it and put it above your head. It is, as others have called it, a portable shade tree. It looks classy and the construction seems solid.

I bought this umbrella because of the good reputation it had. My friends have them, and they have stood up for 7 years. Mine is just over 1 year old, and the sun repellant layer already started peeling off. (See photos). Coolibar won’t do anything to resolve it, since it was purchased through Amazon. I’d urge potential buyers to think carefully before spending this amount on an umbrella, without knowing if the manufacturer and vender will be willing to resolve any problems that might occur.
