Corel Painter Essentials 5 Digital Art Suite for PC and Mac (Old Version)

It sounded great from the get go but the controls are just sloppy and unresponsive. Wacom users beware because I tried it out using an Intuos and its very very bad control. Sure figuring out the buttons were no problem but the minute you accidentally click something your whole drawing settings are just messed up! Oh and the picture editing is just a stupid idea, I wish they put more effort into the actual painting settings and controls. Editing a picture leave that to another software or your average Iphone editing. Waste of time this software is.

Painter Essentials 5 is a drawing and painting program thats designed to simulate the effects of textured paper and brushes, so you can produce realistic art. There are a few good, unique things about it, but theres also a few issues I encountered. Just so you know, Im a Photoshop Elements gal. Ive used PSE for all my website graphics, as well as photographs and hobby art. Thats what Im used to, and thats what I compared PE5 to.

It will not run on Windows 10 nor Windows 7. I wasted my money.

This software exceeded my expectations for such an affordable price.

Beware This product does not work with tablets that are not 64 bit. I got it for my daughter to use with her new Toshiba tablet for graphics and found that it cant be installed.

Im really impressed with the new Corel Painter Essentials 5 software, Ive been trying it out for the past 30 days. This is the first time for me using it, but Ive been using similar graphics programs for a number of years now. A lot of them have been Corel products, so there hasnt been too steep a learning curve with my getting started with this software. In fact, its has some similarities with another program that I use - PD Particles. Plus, there is a feature that remind me a lot of the tubes brushes in Paint Shop Pro. But there are a lot of differences and additional features too. I like Painter Essentials particle brushes as well as the FX brushes. I found it very easy to paint a nice fur texture.

dont waste your money. does not work. cannot open program. tech support is worthless.

I am not an artist nor do I plan on being one. This product seems to do what Paint does, only more options. I was hoping it could help me in editing and retouching my business product photos. I have been using Paint Shop Pro for this. I have to say, I like Paint Shop Pro a lot more. Maybe its because Im used to it but Im not sure. I also like that I have a physical guide book for Paint Shop Pro and you only get a guide online within the product. If Im trying to figure something out, I have to go back and forth between image and guide. I would rather have a physical guide and work form that. Maybe Im old school but thats my preference.
