Coway Airmega AP-1512HH Air Purifier Replacement Filter Set, 1 Count (Pack of 1), White

I bought a set previously about a year ago and immediately returned it for the same reason a lot of people here complain about: the smell. I bought these again hoping that maybe the quality had improved and I was pleasantly surprised. The filters didnt have such a pungent smell to it this time. Its there if you smell for it but its very faint. I installed it in the fan and the air smelled fine. The print on the hepa filter itself still looked like an imitation of the original filter that came with the fan but at least it was usable and fit.

Pricey, but good quality filter. Removes dust and odors from any room.

* Updated to 1 star as I ordered a 2nd filter set for my other air purifier and seem to have received a counterfeit. This was also ordered directly from Amazon, so buyer beware! Note in the image that replace is relpace and odor is oder. Also noted that the correct filter set has #3304899 in the lower righthand corner vs #3109905 in the counterfeit. The COWAY logo is also the incorrect font. I expect better than this when ordering from the 1st party instead of shady 3rd parties. * Product appears to be genuine OEM replacement filters from Coway. These were ordered directly (sold by) Amazon and delivered on the last day of 2021. The black filters did not have any sort of chemical smell, however the same cannot be said for the HEPA filter, sadly. The HEPA filter had an incredibly intense chemical odor upon removing it from its plastic wrap. I left the filter to sit in the garage for 1.5 weeks before attempting to use. The odor dissipated some, however as soon as the filter was placed in the air purifier and ran, the odor emitted was very strong again. I can only imagine how bad it would have been had I not left the filter to rest for that 1.5 weeks prior. I ended up having to place the air purifier in the basement, running on maximum strength, for 24+ hours. After running the air purifier for 24+ hours, the odor finally dissipated. This type of chemical odor should not be acceptable for a consumer product, particularly one aimed at cleaning the air. I would imagine that if you used this filter directly without a safe place to get rid of the odor, this could potentially be a health risk? This is only my opinion, not an expert (clearly). I would look at finding an alternative solution in the future should reviews reflect strong chemical odors persist.

My original purchase of the Coway Airmega AP-1512HHS air purifiers (I bought two) came with honeycomb frames filled with charcoal filtration beads instead of the cheap mesh replacement set. I want to cancel this subscription, but it does not seem intuitive. One air purifier seems to run red all the time, suddenly, indicating poor air quality. We havent changed anything in the environment. I swapped units, placing them in different rooms, and the one was still going red all the time despite the room change. I think something is wrong with it. I bought both in January, 2022. The one that indicates the red light nearly all the time smells like its burning when it runs. I have cleaned it and changed filtration. Nothing helps. The other one seems to perform fine.

Was happy to open the package and get the exact OEM filter when purchasing my Coway mighty along with 2 additional prefilters. I did read some reviews stating the filters had an awful smell to them, mine did not so that issue must have been resolved.

Does a good job with cleaning the air. The only reason this doesn’t get all five stars is because I had to air out the charcoal filter before using it. Very strong chemical smell which wasn’t with the initial air purifier I purchased.

Perfect fit for the air. Sometimes it’s pats to go with the name brand. I bought a generic one. It still did the job, but holding them together the Coway one appeared to be a little thicker.

Im loved this filer. Use it for my Conway air cleaner. I have second year clean house from the dust and some smell.

I should have taken a photo, but after ordering and installing my second replacement filter I can say this isnt a bad deal. The air purifier this goes in is a good setup for home use and the ability to tune its speed to air conditions is excellent. I however had mine set to the medium (2) speed every day, 24/7 for 6 months. And it was still able to filter air through. The old filter came out weighing three times as much as a new one and was nearly as dirty as a lint trap in a dryer! The carbon filters do an excellent job catching cat hair and large particles allowing the Hepa to catch the finer things! So long as you keep the carbon filter cleaned at least monthly the hepa does an excellent job with air quality of your area! Im Completly satisfied and sold on this product line and replacements even though I know I could DIY hepa filters for less $$$ these work so well I dont want to!
