Seems to work well, but unlike what crucial customer service told me, if you are buying a smaller ssd than your original hdd(I did because my old 1 TB HDD was 92% free-didnt need a 1 TB SSD), then you will have to do a manual install-probably best to call crucial for a walk through. It failed on automatic install twice-then called crucial and they walked me through the manual install which worked.

Replaced a standard laptop hard drive with this SSD unit. Was a perfect fit and has been running great. Love the faster boot time and the longer battery life if gives me as well.

If you want good fast storage but dont have the nvme slots for it, this is a good option. Its fast, efficient, and is pretty cheaply priced. I use it primarily as a game drive for the games I want to fast boot/load, since my nvme drives are filled with work stuff.

Ho comprato in sconto questo disco per sostituire un HDD, sempre da 1 TB, sul mio pc ASUS X507UF. A una decina di giorni dalluso direi che mi trovo molto bene: la velocità nelle operazioni e in game è sicuramente parecchio aumentata. Tuttavia, la procedura di installazione (fatta seguendo la guida ufficiale Crucial, che è molto ottimista) mancava di alcuni dettagli che mi hanno fatto un po preoccupare per la buona riuscita. Ecco, in sintesi, qualche consiglio non specificato da tenere a mente:

I finally upgraded my spinning disk to an SSD, Crucial have been around for ages and this seemed like a good drive for the budget conscious consumer; it helped that I got this on sale as well. I purchased this for installation into a desktop rather than a laptop, this caused me some issues as the original drive was a 1TB partitioned into 2 drives (C: and E: for data). This meant that the Acronis cloning software could not clone the drive (1TB to 500GB doesnt go). Also, the drive was not recognized by Acronis if I used a USB to SATA cable.

Easy to install. Duplicated the old drive after moving it to a Sabrent external case which lets you download software to clone your old drive to a new one. Easy peasy.

Ive bought 2 notebook PCs so far, and the HDDs in both of them died only in a year. Since then, I am done with HDDs and SSDs are the only option for me. I used to use 1TB version of Crucials SSD, but needed more storage capacity so I went with 2TB.
