> 24 hourI have Boston area water. I grew up here and always believed the water is fine.. Well when I bought my house 20+ years ago the unit came with the house. every 30 to 90 days I have to replace the filter and everyone i tell to get one of these simple units just does not believe me. My filters are clogged with little tiny particles that otherwise I would be drinking... How does the commercial go: Thank You Culligan Man! - Its what you cant see that these filters catch... which means they are working...

> 24 hourI buy a box of 14 every year for my well. They work great to keep the iron and stuff out of my water supply. We dont drink the well water due to the mineral content but we use the water for everything else. I gave 0 stars for flavor because we dont drink it, not because it doesnt work.

> 24 hourI use these cartridge filters in my Watts Whole House Filter system. They seem to be a good middle-of-the-road choice as far as microns. The 50 micron filters allow a bit too much sediment through and the 10 micron filter so much they have to be changed often. I use these at home and at my business for a campground bathhouse. The are good quality and inexpensive. Amazon carries them in the Subscribe and Save program which makes is really simple to keep an adequate supply all the time.

> 24 hourIt did seem odd that a filter that was described on the packaging thus: REDUCES Sediment Rust Scale Dirt Course Sand Sand and then would go on to state: This cellulose cartridge is not recommended for use with untreated well water. One could only wonder what was left to Treat. Called Culligan and a technical rep explained that the statement referencing untreated referred to treatment for bacteria. Apparently if there is bacteria in the water they love cellulose and can rapidly compromise the filter by digesting it. I suggested to the Culligan rep that they be a bit more explicit in their disclaimer and specifically reference treatment for bacteria.

> 24 hourI bought several of these filters to take advantage of the free shipping from Amazon. I am on a well and just needed a good economical sediment filter to service the whole house without lowering the supply pressure. Works like a charm. I made sure to get some silicone grease to apply to the filter housing O ring and also to post the convenient Log sticker to help me remember the dates the filters have been changed.
