You do not get the ones pictured which I have used for over 15 years. the original ones lasted two months. the universal fit ones I got only last about two weeks and then they turn brown and start to disintegrate. They say Culligan but in my opinion they are after market items of inferior quality. I contacted Amazon and I was told they would check into it. They were on my subscribe and save list, but I dont believe I want to continue getting them. I am checking locally for this item. Update: I contacted Culligan today and spoke with a very nice man. He gave me valuable information regarding filter performance. I mentioned that the filters I received did not look like the one pictured that states made in USA. I forwarded photos of the ones I have and he said he would check Amazon reviews and forward the information to the appropriate party. The ones I got are made in China and said they were universal filters. They had the Culligan name on the package. I sincerely hope we get back the ones made in the USA.

I recommend that no one buy this filter, in fact anything from Culligan. The quality of this product has changed in recent years such that it should be banned from the market. The problem is that the polymer endcaps fail in what is called punching shear. I have used this make and model of filter for 10 years without a single problem until this past year. I purchased a few years supply of filters at once (as I normally do) in 2010 and noticed the endcaps were of a softer material than in the past, but I didnt think much of this since these endcaps also serve as the gaskets. However, upon removal of this filter after using it for a few months (my typical use) I discovered the filter medium and endcaps had collapsed (not disintegrated) like an accordion, while the center core remained straight and at its original length. Closer inspection revealed the endcap had failed in a ring around the point of contact with the filter housing. This is the location where a separate gasket would be on top of the filter. Unfortunately, this did not turn out to be a one-time occurrence. The exact same failure has happened with three subsequent filters, even though I cut the use period in half. Clearly, this whole batch of filters is defective. I have been in contact with the manufacturer (Culligan) over the past few months, and after some limited success at getting them to respond (which was a struggle I might add), they have eventually stopped replying to my emails. This is very poor for public relations. At first, I got several excuses as to why this was not their problem, the most interesting being their claim that the filters I bought were not made by Culligan because they were not purchased directly from Culligan. I informed them that I purchased them from Amazon.com, but they still maintained this argument. I scanned the label on the filter, which clearly shows their logo and contact information (which I had used to contact them) and they became even less responsive. Then I placed the next logical step in the investigation for them to answer, and that is when they ceased to respond altogether. This statement was that if they claim they have no material defects, and since they feel the filter is a counterfeit knock off, then why havent they pursued legal action against the supplier to Amazon? I must conclude that they indeed discovered a material defect with their product and dont wish to continue the discussion for fear of later litigation. I have since researched and found alternate brands of filters (I use both a sediment filter and carbon filter in my system) and will avoid ever using Culligan products again. I will also recommend to anyone that I can to avoid this manufacturer. That is what has compelled me to write this review.

I use these cartridge filters in my Watts Whole House Filter system. They seem to be a good middle-of-the-road choice as far as microns. The 50 micron filters allow a bit too much sediment through and the 10 micron filter so much they have to be changed often. I use these at home and at my business for a campground bathhouse. The are good quality and inexpensive. Amazon carries them in the Subscribe and Save program which makes is really simple to keep an adequate supply all the time.

Im pretty happy with these filters they work great. I set them up as a subscribe & save so every 3 months I get one in the mail automatically that way I never have to remember when to replace it. In the summer when I run the sprinklers and fill up the pool I switch it to bi-monthly. Our water here in the SW suburbs of Chicago is very hard the filter seems to take quite a bit of it out. The advantages that we can see are less mineral deposits in the dishwasher. I have also noticed that the filters in our RO water system came out allot cleaner this last time so maybe Ill experiment with letting them go a little longer. 1 YEAR UPDATE so Ive been using them for almost a year. And I must say im still very happy with their performance. The subscribe and save price has gone up by a dollar and change but doesnt bother me enough to find a different filter. I have had NO instances of my unit falling apart, tearing or disolving so these other folks must just have terrible water or be leaving them in WAY too long! Drained my water heater about two months ago and not too much sediment came out unlike in past years so they are definitly helping. (when I replace the filter its completely covered in rust deposits and I mean COMPLETELY covered. Its amazing what this thing is catching!) Im keeping the 5 stars they are pretty cheap and work well so all in all I think its a pretty good value.

We use this at our home in the mountains. The well water is laden with iron and unless the water is filtered or run consistently, it is not usable. It serves its purpose. If we are only there for a couple days, we remove the filter and I hose each panel off to reuse again. This only works once before the filter paper degrades.

Filter cartridge for my “big blue” water filter. We have a lot of iron in our well water. This takes it out. I replace every three months.

The filter worked great on my water system to remove fine particles in the water.

I am running this filter after a water softener on a well. This filter filters out just about all sediment and my water is just about clear. There is still a little tint to it but a lot better than any of the other filters I have tried including the activated carbon filter. The main test will be how long this filter lasts. If I can get three months I will be happy.

Culligan is top notch rated when it comes to water filtration I purchased their whole house filter which in itself is exceptional because it has a bypass. This is One of two choices when we’re talking 5 µm filtration I purchased this to test out mesh versus string. No matter what the larger size is a must when you’re designing and building your own water purification system

I bought several of these filters to take advantage of the free shipping from Amazon. I am on a well and just needed a good economical sediment filter to service the whole house without lowering the supply pressure. Works like a charm. I made sure to get some silicone grease to apply to the filter housing O ring and also to post the convenient Log sticker to help me remember the dates the filters have been changed.
